Hi only found out thurs I’m triple neg with spread to lungs I was dx in may 09 fec tax mas then rads then 10 months on now been told spread to lungs I feel devastated angry scared and let down by n h s I asked after op what type my cancer was was told was norm one that obviously was untrue then when I went for my check up I had cough and few chest pains onc told me oh after checking me out I’m not concerned all y sats are ok my x ray form I had been given to me by gp sitting in my bag onc sd oh don’t go for x ray it won’t show up anything how wrong he was my family pushed me to go have it done only to be told shadow on lung not only one but both so ct scan booked and again onc we send u but I’m not overly concerned how so wrong he was the only gd thing to come out of this is that it’s been caught v early it cld have been a whole lot worse why don’t doc listen to us we know our own body feel so let down and scared not handling it v well at moe v early days and have just had to tell my children all in shock any positive stories wld be great

HI Laura 64, very sorry to haar your news - I hope some of the other lasses with secondaries experience will be along soon to let you know whats what. Its such a schock tho isn’t it, and not helped if you feel unsure about trusting your Onc. My friend Julia who had breast cancer had a stamp made - like in an old fashioned post office - and it read “I know my body better than you do”!!! She used to take it to her appointments and stamp it all over her notes!! Hee hee, good for her. But we need the medics too so perhaps you can find a way of building back some trust or getting a change of doc?

I am very sorry to hear your news. However, it’s worth mentioning that tumours can change their makeup. Mine did after 3 months of treatment. My onc did another biopsy to try to find out why my initial treatment hadn’t worked.

Hi cromercrab thanks for your comments I’ve not had a biopsy he is just saying it is cancer by looking at x ray and ct scan whatever he just thinks it’s come from the breast I don’t know don’t make u feel better when it’s all maybes after the way he’s ignored everything else tc x
