Triple negative 31- anyone also on Zoledax for 2 years?

I had a lumpectomy in Sep 08 followed by 6 Fec + radios. My tunor was 1.9cm but grade3.

My oncologist wants to put me on 2 years Zoledx ( starting in Oct 08 when i start first Chemo)

Wonder if anyone else also have simular treatment? or if you have Zoledax- how long do you have it for?

I didnt have chemotherapy and am not triple negative but ER/PR+ HER2 negative and am having 2 years zoladex to shut down my ovaries to stop the oestrogen production. When I asked why only 2 years when I will still be pre menopause I was told once 2 years has passed since dx the risk of returning reduces dramatically. That said I am in the middle of a fight for the removal of ovaries…long story.
I was dx dec 07(Iwas 39) grade 2 er/pr+ 1.8cm had WLE/SNB no nodes involved am on 5 years tamoxifen, 2 years zoladex and had 19 rads.
Dont know if this info is any use but the zoladex for two years seems to be quite a common and standard treatment for pre menopausal women. There atre usually loads of threads going on the subjest under the undergoing hormone treatment threads/

Hi Avonlea. I am triple negative but didn’t get offered Zoledax, thought it was only for hormone positive cancers but clearly not, I was 39 at diagnosis, and Taxotere put me into menopause anyway.

I too thought Zoladex was just for hormone+ bc,interesting.
