I was diagnosed last week. The worst news imaginable when you’re 29 and 9 months away from your wedding. The tumour is 4.5cm.
I’m looking for any simile cases to share their stories.
We’ve begun ivf in a very small time frame. But today realised we’ll be setting back my first chemo by a week. I just don’t know which way to turn and what decision to make. Any advice would be great.
Hi Cara,so sorry you haven’t had a reply to your post. There is a younger women’s section on the site where you may get some advice from ladies who have been in the same situation. Hoping that you have had the treatment needed to give yourself some options for the future .There are monthly chemo starters groups in the going through treatment sections of the site where ladies going through chemo at the same time can give each other support if you want to have a look .Best wishes Jill.
I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer just before Christmas had surgery and started chemo in January.6 sessions of FEC and then 9 weekly sessions now on 6 weeks of radiotherapy. Found Chemo really hard and this radiotherapy every day has me drained. Very tired but consultant says I’m doing very well so keep going and hopefully we will get there.
Hi Cara88. I am little bit older than you at 34 and I have had 2 children already. I did want more but was told after my diagnosis that they wouldn’t wait for me to harvest any eggs and that they wanted me to begin treatment straightaway. Also as I was positive for oestrogen, they said that the process of treatment could speed up rumour growth. But I wanted to tell you about my friend. She was diagnosed with cancer at 29. She delayed her treatment for a few weeks so she could go through ivf and have some of her eggs harvested. After 12 rounds of chemo, over 30 rounds of radiation, being told that the cancer had spread elsewhere and then being told she had gone through the menopause, I remember her being in dispair. Then she was given the all clear. Ecstatic and newly married (that was one heck of a wedding!) She started feeling ill again. A mate dragged her to the doctor with her terrified that the cancer had come back only for her to find out she was pregnant!!! Two years post chemo, surgeries etc. And she was nearly 4 months pregnant! I’ve since met 2 more girls recently who have had similar stories and all who are around their early 30s. My friend has 2 children now aged 10 and 8. She parties like a trooper, lives life like crazy and is the best mum to her kids. She also still has 4 little embryos in a freezer in a london hospital which she keeps paying rent for because she likes to say “just in case”. I really hope your wedding is a fantastic day. I see you posted on here in June so you must have only a few months left of wedding prep to go. I really hope it’s all working out for you. Big hugs. Xxx
