Triple negative secondaries/ recurrences

Hi laura
That sounds better. I was told about eribulin and capecitabine at marsden so thought there were others .
I was told capecitabine or phase 1 trial after carbo. I don’t know if have receptor yet but if have may consider trial.
Did you get checked for all receptors at marsden or just androgen ?
Sadie - my onc referred me to research unit at marsden for trials. As far as I know all phase 1 and they test androgen receptors and others to see if you have. I’m waiting for results as had done nov time.
Hope helps
Jo x

Laura that is sounding much more positive… Good luck on wed x

Sandra good luck with your onc appt and Chemo x

Jo hope you don’t have to wait too long for the results of your receptor test.

I’m just vegging out with my indigestion, nasty taste, scabby tongue, constipation and lethargy… Got nurse coming in am to flush and bleed my line but hope I’ll be starting to feel a but better again by the weekend

And I haven’t been as faint as last few times since I stopped my water tablets.

Take care lovely ladies

Lulu xx

lulu so sorry to read about your friend on the other thread :frowning: Big hugs hunny. Hope your feeling a bit better post-tax. Se’s sound nasty. Nearly there now- hope u can see the light at the end of the tunnel x
Laura- glad ur feeling better about things today. Gd luk for next wk x
jo- sorry to year about the liver pain sounds awful :frowning: I have occasional pains + twinges throughout the day. It has my nerves shot! Hope the chemo is working well. You should chase up the receptor tests- good luck with results
Rachel- how are you? I will send u a pm later x
hi to sadie, sandra, Sarah, wendy, and anyone I’ve missed xx
had my 2nd dose of eribulin today. Another 5hr stint but I’m free now until next dose on weds 17th. Got feedbak on ct scan and it’s good news. Stable since last scan in oct- some nodes have even shrunk  One tiny new area on liver of ‘unknown significance’, approx 4mm. Onc wasn’t concerned but keen not to biopsy. So it looks like the nearly2 carbo doses have kept things under control, which I’m hugely relieved about :))) next scan after cycle 3or 4. Fingers crossed!
Love to everyone xxx

Pleased for you, Tina. Love to all.

Fab news Tina xx

Thanks ladies
I’m feeling relieved that things haven’t ran away with themselves- but naturally anxious about the new chemo + how effective it will be. The worry is never ending isn’t it :frowning:
I’m hoping to get away for a week after cycle 2 or 3. It would mean delaying chemo by a week but I’m hoping my onc will allow it. What do you guys reckon? Sadie, didn’t you go away recently to France+ eurodisney whilst on chemo? we are thinking Tenerife. Fingers crossed x
sandra best of luck with ur results. I couldn’t remember if it was u or wendy having scans last wk like me- hope all is well do let us know xx
how is everyone doing? Hope all is well ladies xx

Sarah- hope ur scan went well today, thinking of you xx
laura good luck with the xeloda this wk xx
hi to everyone else xx

Hi Tina nd all, chemo really taking its toll, feel soooooo tired nd know i will feel worse before getting better! No date for scans but they said today first week of feb. I will then having planning meeting with onc. However, the good news is they defo think a break is needed. All my bloods just scraped over the minimum limit - but literally 0.1 above most limits! So, my body needs a rest - nd so does my brain!! But not sure how long, poss 3 mths, but that is just me guessing! However if scans not positive we will need a rethink! However, this will NOT be the case! Thinking positive!

Monday hugs to all!

Sadie Xx Xx

Sandra great news about your scan x

Sadie sorry you are finding things tough going just now I hope you get a wee bit of a deprive to build your strength up hunny.

Love and hugs as always xxxx

Hi to everyone

Great news on your scan Sandra, I love to hear positive news, it’s great to know there is treatment working for some of us.

I’ve got chemo tomorrow. I’ve just been for a further supply of lorazepam, I take 1/2 beforehand to calm my nerves as I’m terrible with needles. So far it’s been going okay, although I was sick last time (the shame!)

I’ve got an appointment with my Onc on Monday, so will get the results of my CT scan and nuclear bone scan then. Keep your fingers crossed for me that it’s good news ladies. I do think I’ll be looking at a new treatment option though, just not sure what to expect yet.

Best wishes to everyone

Sadie - I’ve been taking Eissac herbal tea twice a day for months now, and my bloods have improved and stay very stable, every 2 weeks for avastin. Not sure if you’ve tried it, but it may be worth a try, you can google it for suppliers, or I can give you a tel number.

Good luck Wendy for Monday

And many thanks for yr messages too

Sandra xx

Hi everyone
Wendy- good luck with tomorrows chemo. Hopefully u will be pleasantly surprised with ur scan results nxt wk- I’ll be keeping everything crossed 4u. If it is time to change chemos, u will have to ask about eribulin. I am finding it strangely easy (dare I say that?!) so if it works well it’ll be a win-win situation. All the best xx
sandra I am also taking essiac tea. Started early may + take it once daily . My lovely aunt buys all the herbs and brews it up 4me. I think it must’ve helped- noone wouldve believed I would still be so well this far on, given my initial dire prognosis. Will they keep u just on avastin then whilst it’s still working? Xx
lulu, hope ur feeling ok and turning the corner post chemo xx
Sarah- hope ur scan went well xx
sadie- hope ur not feeling too bad after the carb. Yesterday? U must be shattered! A 3mth break would be fab! Have u heard from joey lately? How’s she doing? Xx
jo- how are u doing? Hope the liver pain has eased + ur bloods aren’t suffering too much. Any scans due? Hope ur ok xx
rachel- always thinking of you Hun xx
I’m feeling ok, although having increasing pain +!cramps in side (chest wall). Muscle keeps going into spasm- like when u get a cramp in ur leg/foot. Bloody horrible :frowning: Need to start taking painkillers at night really. Nodes at clavicle don’t feel any better but keep telling myself it’s only been 1 cycle (patence tina!).
Hoping to delay cycle 3 for a week and go to Tenerife early feb. Have found really reasonable insurance thanks
to sadie so we plan on booking in a few weeks. I’m expecting my onc to be cool about it. She better had be coz dan hasn’t stopped talking about the beach all week!
No hair loss as yet but it’s only day 13 + I think it was about day 18 when I noticed any hair loss on fec. Watch this space…
Love to all xxx
