hi just recently been diagnosed with grade 2 metaplastic carcinoma triple negative am having surgery and possibly chemo and radiotherapy am very frightened as its quite rare according to the web site any body else had a similar diagnosis any advice off anyone or support would be greatly appreciated as unless you are going through it i dont think anyone can understand the emotions i’m going through thank you for any replies

Sorry to hear you’re joining us. I didn’t have a metaplastic diagnosis, but wanted to acknowledge your post & welcome you to the forum.
Diagnosis is such a shock & more so if it is one of the rarer types, having said that, there is loads of support here from us all at the stage you’re at now & further down the line.
I understand treatments are similar, so do look at the other threads, such as ‘newly diagnosed’ & ‘going through treatment,’ which are busier & there are those of us sharing similar feelings about things that are common to all of us when going through this.

Hi lessons I’m a triple negative too! Invasive ductal carcinoma grade 3 I’m 5 weeks other side of surgery and feel great in terms of post op stuff just waiting for the date of the treatment to start (chemo) it’s awful when you first get diagnosed it’s very scary I was a wreck, still get emosh at times, try not to read the TN threads or sites atm as it’s scary stuff on there some out of date I’ve been told, it’s not all doom and gloom it is quite uncommon but responds well to treatment x just to reassure you that the emotional side of a BC diagnosis is sometimes more difficult than the physical I know it has been for me especially as there are not as many people get this type so unheard of to most x

Sorry I don’t know anything about the metaplastic part but the TN stuff is not hormone receptive or her 2 receptive unfortunately don’t know what the hell that means to us apart from treatment side of things x hope that was a little use to you!
