Hi I have been referred to the breast clinic for an ultrasound on my right breast due to a lump in my right armpit. I first discovered the lump on the 12th April and was seen on the 15th at my doctors surgery for a breast assessment, after much worrying from me about wasting her time she confirmed the lump as a pea sized pebbly lump in my armpit which had no give to it when pressed and doesn’t move.
She also said that my whole right breast feels somewhat different to my left, much denser. She also asked about three raised moles which I have on my areola of that breast which I said had only come about 2 years ago but were perfectly symmetrical in colour and size, now however two of the three are larger and speckled with small black dots.
She referred me to the breast clinic and I have my appointment through for the 26th April, the wait is killing me. I am currently 31 weeks pregnant also but she doesn’t personally think that these changes are pregnancy related, she seemed quite concerned when she was feeling them and after when she was talking me through what would happen next.
I’m not too sure on family history as my father’s mother was adopted and has never been able to trace her birth parents, however his sister was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was 29.
I’m trying so hard not to worry myself by looking online, but I’m sure we’ve all done it, aside from my lump and dense feeling breast the only other things I’ve noticed are extreme fatigue (even before this pregnancy), a pain which has been shooting from my right armpit to my right nipple and a throbbing right nipple. I’m 23 years old and worried sick as I also have three other children to care for.
All I know about my appointment on friday is that it will involve an ultrasound, but apart from this I’m completely in the dark about what happens after, so just looking for some advice from people in the same situation. Sorry for the essay! x

Hey Beckie
Just thought I’d drop by and see you got on today.

Thank you for thinking of me. Appointment went okay. Ultrasound clearly showed my lump which has been ruled out as a cyst and also as a swollen lymph node due to it’s positioning. Measured 10mm and slightly irregular in shape. Definitely solid.
Spent ages being scanned and rescanned then they decided to do two core biopsies, one on the lump and one on the area just around it. Appointment for results scheduled for Thursday at 10.30am, consultant reassures me it’s most likely benign but wanted to double check to give me piece of mind xx
Hi Beckie
Thabks for giving us an update - I am sure everything will be ok. Let us know how you get on on Thursday. Meantime look after yourself and you baby.
Thinking of you
Martha xx
I wish you luck for Thursday xx
