Hi have been told it is tubular cancer,8mm is the size of the lump, specialist says if you are going to get cancer this is the 1 to have.went in last wed for opperation, when the nurse took the dressing of the week after shesaid they had gone in twice.now worrying why.wondering what sought of treatment they are going to give me.On top of that my husband who had a double lung transplant 5yrs ago ended up in hosp the day i came out with breathing problems and stress.
Hi
My cancer was tubular too. Mine was removed by WLE (lumpectomy) but I also had a sentinal lymph node biopsy at the same time so I had two incisions. I think if they had done this you would have known though because you have to have an injection before the operation. Are you going back for the results soon? Perhaps you could ring the breast care nurses to put your mind at rest.
I was fortunate in that mine was picked up early and I am just having radiotherapy (15 sessions) - starting soon, but I have also just started taking Arimidex (hormone therapy). It is different for everyone and will depend on what exactly they found during the surgery. It sounds as if you do have the best sort of cancer - and hopefully you will have a similar outome to me. Good luck!
Hi Walton
I have just read your post on another thread - and it seems that you have just had a biopsy at the moment? I thought you had already had a lumpectomy. I would think it is likely that this is what they will do - but they will check the grade of your cancer, and as I said - everyone is different. You will have your lymph nodes checked as well - mine were done by just taking out two of the nearest ones to the breast.
Sorry if I have made this more confusing for you. You are right - it is addictive on here - I wanted to find out everything - but you need to be careful not to jump too far ahead. Try to take one step at a time - but the waiting is the most difficult part of it and it is so hard not to worry. When is your next consultation? Looby x
hi loobytuesday, no i had a WLE a week last wed i went back the following week for my dressing removed and hopefully results but they didnt have results the nurse said she hadnt known they were going in twice, ive two scars about 2in long get the results on tues.i had two biop before this.
Hi there again Loopytuesday,
It seems that we both had exactly the same diagnosis and op, also had 4 nodes taken out. I have two incisions also, one on my breast 3" and one under the arm 3". the one under my arm is the most uncomfortable especially when in bed at night, I cant put much pressure of that area at all. I do get a lot of cording though which is really uncomfortable.

Hi Mushroom,
I got the same diagnosis as you and have just come to the end of my treatment. My biopsy site was very sore and I ended up with some cording. I saw a phyiso who gave me some exercises to do before and during rads. These have been invaluable and now much loser. Not looking forward to wearing a bra though as rads has made me very tender.
Good luck
Hi Toffee
I have been given exercises too and find they do help. If I forget to do them the cording will remind me the next day or so. I was wearing a thick pad under my breast when wearing my bra, it had a non sticky surface so don’t stick when taken off, got them from my local clinic, they were so good, they gave me lots of creams and dressings whilst in total agony and I found them so much more helpful than the ongology dept.
So good luck in wearing your bra for the first time
Best wishes
