Tumor growth during chemotherapy

Hi everyone,

I am 33 years old, and I’ve been diagnosed with grade 3 invasive ductal carcinoma ER+(5 out 8), HER2- in early October.

I had a lumpectomy and one sentinel lymph node removed in November. The biopsy of the tumor showed extensive LVI and the lymph node had 4mm cancer.

I was advised that to do chemotherapy (4xEC and 4x Paclitaxel) followed by mastectomy and auxiliary lymph node clearance.

I’ve just completed all those treatment and got the biopsy results that showed that I had 10 out of 22 lymph nodes affected. I also had 8 regions in the breast with cancer cells being the biggest region about 15mm.

It seems that chemotherapy didn’t work!  I am obviously really worried and now panicking that it might have metastasized. Does anyone have been through the same? And which other treatments have you had?

thanks

Dear @ssilva , I am sorry to read that you have been worried.

It is common for our minds to race in these situations, but remember that your cancer hasn’t metastasised until a professionals tells you it has.
