I started 15 days of radiotherapy last week. The first two days were fine but the on the third day I walked in feeling fine and came out with my brain scrambled, weak at the knees, dizzy and nauseated. When I mentioned this the following day it was discounted as caused by something else. I have been feeling tired and sick ever since.I am told these symptoms are ‘very unusual’.
I’ve almost completed 2 weeks and have been feeling sick but not sure if its the rads or the hormone tablets. I had rads 23 years ago and I can’t remember feeling sick then.
When I mentioned it I was told to drink plenty of water and I must admit it has helped. Think I am over doing it though and am making too many trips to the loo.
See how I feel when I finish, suppose like everything it affects us all differently.
Hope things have improved for you.
Take care.

Hiya, I had rads 25 years ago and a nurse told me to sit quietly for 10 mins or so and have a drink. I always took lucozade with lemon barley. Have to say no nausea. Did get a “metallic” taste in my mouth that developed after the first couple of sessions.
Also drank a lot of peppermint tea, as someone told me that helped.
The rads were delivered over a longer period 3 days per week. I’m about to go down that road again, but have been told it’s Mon-Fri for 3.5 weeks. Just watch Lucozade stocks and shares grow now!
Hi all
You might find it useful to have a look at the BCC booklet on radiotherapy, it gives information on side effects.
If you would like to have a look at this on-line or order a copy just follow this link:-

I hope this helps.
Kind regards
