Update - My Mum

Hi All

I hope you ladies are keeping OK. Well my Mum has fractured two further ribs, so that now makes 4 ribs without trauma. She has had her blood count back which is normal. This morning she had a letter from the consultant with an appointment made for January 20th for the results of the bone scan. This will be nearly 4 weeks from actual scan to results. they said because of the Christmas period its been slower.

I am running a million miles ahead of myself, but I wanted to know if it is usual regardless of result for it to take this long. Would they call her back quicker if it was serious. So many ifs and whys. I guess the upshot is won’t know til the day hey

Love to you all, and thank you for taking the time to read my post

I can’t personally help you with this, but thought if i bump it up someone might

Hi emira7

I’m so sorry to hear that your Mum has fractured ribs – must be so uncomfortable for her, not to mention the added anxiety about her bone scan. I was dx with bone & liver mets in 2003 and have had three bone scans – these all took some time before the results were available. It very much depends on the machines & staff available to assess the scans, but you could of course try ringing your Mum’s oncologist to see if you can get the results sooner than the 20th.

Good luck to your Mum with her results, and please don’t hesitate to come back to these forums for more information, advice & support!
