My mum saw the oncologist this morning and had a chest scan. The hormone treatment has made the cancer in her lung shrink, almost completly. Aparantly it looks almost normal! She doesnt need to see the onc for another 2 months now.
This is the first good news ive had for a while! Any other women out there that can share similar experiences with me? I still wonder how long my mum has left, I cant get that out of my mind, but its good news
That’s fantastic news about your mum. You must all be so pleased and I hope that she keeps well for as long as possible.
I had my first completely clear scan last November after being diagnosed with secondaries in both lungs and lymphatic system in Feb last year. I underwent 9 months of taxol chemo and Avastin last year and am currently off chemo and just on the Arimidex and Zoladex hormone treatments.Had another scan a week ago and that was still completely clear which is great. I have no idea how long I will be in this position and my oncologist couldn’t say either but I’m just learning to think in short periods of time. Last year it was just day by day but now I am starting to think more in 3 month chunks from one scan to the next! I’m 39 by the way.
Enjoy your mum’s good news! Take care,
Anne
