Hello Ladies
I had my implant taken out last november and a new one put in because of capsulation, my surgeon feels that the new one as taken well, and as offered me an uplift on the otherside,
I am unsure what to do because I know I will be having a slight breast reduction on that side and the nipple needs to be repositioned, He has explained potential risk ect, but I think what concerns me is the thought of maybe losing sensation in the breast and technically being messed about with again.
i know cosmetically it will be more symetrical, but still unsure, as anyone one had to make this decision. would be grateful for replies
thanks x
Hi, I know it is a big decision to make isn’t it? I had an expander implant which was supposed to be permanent but caused me a few problems, leaked, slipped etc. So I had to have that removed and another implant put in. I was also offered an implant on the good side as I was totally lopsided. I have hummed and hawwed about this for months because I didn’t want unneccessary surgery, have the good side fiddled with - all the same things as you. However, I did bite the bullet and had both breasts done yesterday. So far so good. Everyone has told me what a fantastic job my surgeon has done and that I’ll be really pleased with the result. At the moment all I can see is that I will cleavage again, otherwise I’m a bit too sore and swollen to tell. But, two breasts the same size, shape and in the same position will do wonders for my morale and ultimately that is what swayed me.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

Hi Angel,
I haven’t had a reconstuction; I had therapeutic mammoplasty when my lump was removed, like a reduction (they took 600gms- my boobs are naturally a G cup). I had my nipple replaced and was warned that I might lose sensation but I didn’t. In fact, I’d say I have heightened sensation and it looks good, just smaller. I did have bit of necrosis but this wasn’t on the nipple, but that cleared up with regular dressing changes with iodine. I have a vertical scar from the nipple downwards which is fading nicely and I can’t see the scar around the nipple at all. My surgery was on 10TH Jan.
Best Wishes,
Lisa
