US for liver a little worried!!!

Hi,

Would be grateful for any help please, have had biopsy, 2 ops, lymph nodes removed (no spread), rads and tamoxifen. Nearly 4 months finished treatment. For the last 2 months have had constant nausea (another thread) which I assumed was caused by tamoxifen. Have had blood tests, all clear and am now having a scan on Thurs, in the last week my stomach is bloated, sometimes during the day pregnant looking which is horrible, no weight loss, and I am a little tender under rib cage area.
I did not relate this to any spread at all because my lymph nodes were clear so think I just need a little reassurance that everything will be ok, did not put 2 and 2 together till I read my letter properly from hospital and am being scanned for secondaries, now I’m worried!! Forgot to say found 2 small lumps around 3 weeks ago in other breast had checked and that was fine too so all good news so far, sounds like I’m a hypochondriac but I’m not honestly xx

Hi Katy

Sorry I have no experience of stomach bloating (apart from when I overeat!) but I guess if your bloods are clear and the lymph nodes weren’t affected, that this is a good sign! Hopefully the hospital want to cover any eventuality and are just doing the scan to ‘rule out’ any secondaries.

Fingers crossed for a clear scan!! hopefully they will find out what is wrong and reduce your discomfort asap.

Thank you Nicky65, you made me laugh (stomach bloating) that’s usually what I’m like too but not that hungry just now xx

Hi Katy,

I’ve also posted on this thread about stomach bloating (and some other symptoms) and fears around secondaries. On paper I think we both look low risk but there is always that niggling, what if feeling - well for me anyhow. I am having the ultrasound on abdomen and pelvis on Monday. I’ve been told that its probably all stress related…we shall see. Also awating results of CT to chest - hate the waiting game!

Hope everything works out well for you,

Jacqui x

Hi Katytc ,hopefully it will be nothing at all just could be down to stress or even just body changes still going on with end of treatment ect.Think they are probably just airing on the safe side but i know only too well that its worrying to be in the waiting game again.
My friend went to the docs with a bad back ,she had finished her treatment in june and like me has TN so no other treatment now.She like you never even thought about seconderies until she got a scan ect straight away ,they told her it was to check for seconderies .After a fortnight of worrying she got the all clear so lets hope like my friend they are just looking after you well .
I will keep my fingers crossed for you let us know how you get on xxx

JacquiD, That’s what I thought low risk, so being honest it was only when I read letter properly I realised, very best of luck to you for Mon, please let me know how you get on, take care & hugs to you xx
Lisha, thank you for your kindness, it might be the rads then? didn’t think about that, that was great news for your friend, I wasn’t really that worried till I read the letter…thanks again lisha xx
Thank you Jo too xx

Hi Katy,

I too have been having problems with feeling sick, feeling full, discomfort under the ribs and to the side. I have a liver US on Monday to check it is all ok, but I ended up in A&E a couple of nights ago in agony and they think I may have had a gall bladder attack (I already know I have a gall stone but never caused any problems!).

So hopefully it will be something like your gall bladder and nothing more serious.

Paula xx

I have my fingers crossed for all you ladies. Good luck  xx

Paula, so sorry you are feeling bad too, are you taking tamoxifen? Hopefully it will be something to do with gall stone, can you please let me know how you get on. Will keep my fingers crossed for you, take care and lots of hugs xx

Gingerbud, thank you so much! xx

Hi Katy,

Hi Katy,

Any news? I had my US yday and have a lovely 1.7cms gall stone, but I also have something on my liver. The sonographer said it may be something called haemangioma? So more tests now I should think! but first to get through my recon surgery tomorrow

Hi Paula,

No I don’t have scan until Thurs, thats really good news Paula that it’s not sinister and it was great that you received your results immediately, you must be so relieved (not that you have a gall stone or haemangioma) oh, you know what I mean!!
Best of luck for tomorrow, hope everything goes well, let us know how you are doing, take care xx
