Vertangie

I don’t know Angie personally but have always followed her posts. I know she got married on March 30th (happens to be my Birthday which is why I remembered it) but I haven’t seen anything from her since and am just wondering how she is. I know she was dx with brain mets before her wedding, and hope she is doing okay.

Hi Redders
We’ve not spoken before but Angie is one of our group from May last year who all had chemo at the same time so we had our little support group going during that and also after we’d all finished chemo. We were all in regular contact with Angie upto her wedding but are all concerned now as we have not heard anything since. Knowing her so well as we do it is very worrying that she hasn’t posted. If we hear from her you can check it out on the Darling Buddies of May thread (in After treatment has finished category), which you may be reading anyway?
All the best

Thanks very much for your post Nicky, I’ll check out your thread. It’s strange how we can feel a connection to certain people on this forum even though we’ve never met and probably never will. Angie is one such person for me.

Just bumping this up because I would like to know if Angie is Ok. She PM-ed me such lovely messages last year.
Angie you looked gorgeous in your white cloak.

I’ve been wondering where she has got to too. I think we went through chemo at roughly the same time last year

Hi, we heard from her to say wedding went okay but nothing since, she was moving at the same time and had broadband issues, however their company website is down too which is quite worrying, hopefully its a technoology problem and she’s off having fun x

I hope so too. She will probably be amazed that we are asking about her. So pleased that the wedding went off well. She will probably catch up with us all soon.

Hi Folks

Has Angie moved far. i sometimes travel up to the area she used to live in and am due to travel that way next weekend if its any help

Crispy

Hi Crispy
As far as I know she is in the same village she was in before, but as to the exact location I don’t know. We (her chemo pals) have checked out her hubby’s websites and he has been using them again so I’m not sure if this means they were both busy or what.

Hi Crispy, I live in the same county as Angie, about 45mins away. We will keep you update if we hear from here! x

Just bumping this up

Oops, sorry ladies, we didn’t get back to you. We have heard from Angie, a few weeks ago. Obviously things have been a bit difficult to say the least but if you want to see what she has to say look at Darling Buddies from May in ‘after treatment has finished’. It’s a lot of useless chat for the most part (ha ha I contribute a lot of it!) but Angie did get in touch and explained a few things. Sorry if it’s a lot of reading for you to do but try about 5 pages back from the current one and you may be close, or do a search.

Hi Guys,

I’m vertangie’s husband, Tommy. I just wanted to let you all know what’s happening with Angie at the moment.

As most of you probably know, she was diagnosed with brain mets in February after she suffered a brain seizure. At that time she was put on a high dose of steroids and underwent whole-brain radiotherapy. Since then we’ve been caught in a cycle of a gradually reducing steroid dosage, until she starts getting sick and suffering headaches, at which point the does goes back up and we start all over again.

In the last few weeks we’ve noticed a general deterioration in her condition. The steroids have been playing havoc with her physically and the mets seem to have been causing more problems with things like memory and language. Just over a week ago she had another seizure.

Sadly, today she took a major turn for the worse. All the indications are that the cancer is growing again, probably very fast. Treatment possibilities seem to be basically non-existent, and the doctors are concentrating on making her as comfortable as possible. Nothing is certain, and I’m a very long way from giving up on my angel, but it looks as though she may be running short on time.

She knows what’s going on, and what the doctors’ opinions are. Obviously she’s terrified, but resting comfortably right now.

The plan is to keep her at home for long as possible, with hospital/hospice care as an absolute last resort.

I hate being the bearer of bad news, but I though you guys would want to know. I know that the love support she’s received and given through these forums have meant so much to her through these very difficult times.

Tommy

So, so sorry to hear the news Tommy. I had been wondering why she hadn’t posted recently. I don’t know Angie but always felt a “connection” to her through her early posts and with many of the things she had to say. I don’t have any words of great wisdom to give, but you are both in my heart and will be in the days to come.

Thanks for telling us Tommy, she gave me and many others so much support.Tell her we are thinking of her and of you and the rest of her family.

So sorry to hear the latest developments…

Love to you both…

Theresa

I am so sorry to read your post on the latest developments, Angie and myself were going through chemo last year at almost the same time, although she was about a month ahead of me.

Fingers and toes crossed that her team can keep her comfortable, and wishing for a miracle to happen.

Many good wishes to you all

P xx

Thank you so much for taking the time to update us on Angie’s condition.
This latest news is truly awful and I would like you both to know how much I hope and pray for a miracle.
