hi i am 31 with 3 kids my right breast has been hurting for about a week now and there is thickening at the bottom part my gp has referred me to the breast clinic i have to wait two weeks i am very scared he said he could feel a few lumps but prob nothing to worry about
your doctor has done the right thing and so have you. Whether he thinks it is nothing to worry about or not, you are worried, it’s easier once you’ve had the tests. They are a bit embarrassing and uncomfortable but necessary. the stats are that 9 out of 10 lumps are benign, but if you are anything like me you know 1 out of 9 isn’t and so there’s always a concern there. But in my experience it is better to know whether it is good news or bad. One other thing - under the age of 40 breast cancer is fairly rare, and painful lumps are usually not cancer. However they can be so there’s no certainties at this point. the tests are pretty accurate so you should know quite soon.
