VINORELBINE - HAIR LOSS

Hello ladies

I am about to start the above chemo tomorrow and was wondering about hair loss. I have only just got my hair back after finishing 5 rounds of Abraxane in June so i really dont want to lose it again. The info sheet i got says hair loss is rare but I was just wondering what your experiences were and any other side effects.

I have a really healthy head of hair, plus no other noticeable side effects and I have had 11 cycles. I hope you feel as well on it as I do.

Thanks Louise, nurse said only 10-15% of women lose their hair so fingers crossed. Good luck with your ongoing treatment…Trish

Hi - just thought I would add to the above! I had about 6 courses of Vinorelbine in 2005 and found it pretty tolerable. Managed to work through it and didn’t lose my hair. Good Luck!

Vinorelbine okay for me too and I didn’t lose my hair either.

Hi everyone,

After 3 years of herceptin,taxotere at start of dx ibc plus mastectomy then rads. Had ld recon last year with reduction on the other one and two lots of lipo-fill this year it looks as though I may be having weekly vinorelbine, herceptin and poss trial with everolimus for spread to head of my pancreas.

Can anyone tell me about the side effects including hair loss! How are you all doing on it? I am very well and full of energy - walking 2-3miles a day and loving my food! I would like to stay that way!!! I’m also booked in for my nipple tattoo on 6th Feb ready for my nipple recon! It was meant to be the cherry on the cake!! Hope I don’t have to cancel that!

This has been going on since I had a CT scan in August - two edoscopys and another scan later - my onc wants me on this trial, I have appt on 3rd Jan to give my answer so any info gladly received so I can ask my questions. However apparently the powers to be still can’t decide whether its breast cancer spread or a completely different one! I may have to have an exploratory op to find out which will delay treatment even longer.

Sorry I’m rambling on - any info greatly received!
