Hi - I had mobility problems on vinolrebine. It did eventually go away but for about nine months it was a bore. It felt initially as if I was wading through treacle, and got to the point where it was a real effort to walk for the first twenty minutes. I didn’t notice bone pain, just this awful muscular weakness.
It sounds as if we all get different problems on vineralbine/navelberine.
I’m really hoping that I can go back on it after I’ve had my 18 weeks of taxol which should be after the New Year if I spread the taxol out a bit!!! Otherwise, I have no chemo options left whatsoever and now feel so well but knowing last time it took only 3 weeks to be well to being jaundiced as a new met had grown in those 3 weeks, I won’t have much time after I finish the taxol which is very scary!!!
Just back from short holiday with my mum - needed time away to be with her alone as so hectic at home. Then half term so family holiday/break and then time for me and hubby to go away on our own!!!
Hope evryone on this chemo is doing OK and hope to be joining you on this drug again round new year - how scary that christmas could be so close!!!
Love Kate
Hi all,
this navelbine is supposed to be one of the “easier” chemos, but for me it’s been one of the hardest. Apart from Taxotere then cos that was really bad. With this one I am constantly tired and get bad pains in lower back and right side. Still, my onc says it seems to be working as my tumour markers are going down so will put up with whatever side effects I get. Am really grateful right now too, because my onc said before starting with navelbine that she only gave it a 15% chance of working but that it was up to me to decide if I wanted to try it or not, glad I did any way. Haven’t been online much, just been clebrating the first good news in months and didn’t feel like thinking about cancer.
Kate hope you and hubby have a lovely time.
love Maroke
