Hi, I was advised by a Macmillan nurse to stay away from vitamin E, has anyone else been told this. If so do you stay away from foods with vitamin E such as nuts? Is cows milk and dairy a risk with oestrogen fed breast cancer? Xx
Hi Sharon
Haven’t heard of that was told to take vitamin D everyday x
Hello Sharon,
Thanks for posting.
We wonder if your Macmillan nurse was referring to vitamin E supplements rather than the vitamins you find in foods. Vitamin E supplements are often suggested to ease menopausal symptoms but are not recommended for women with a history of breast cancer. We aren’t aware of any reason why you need to stay away from food that contains vitamin E. Perhaps you can contact your Macmillan nurse to clarify it was supplements she was referring to.
There is information about dairy from the British Dietetics Association might be of interest and this from Dairy UK
