We are looking for a volunteer to support our Moving Forward courses in Chesterfield
Breast Cancer Care understands that a person’s need for support doesn’t end when treatment finishes. Our Moving Forward services and information are for anyone living with and beyond breast cancer, helping them approach life after treatment with increased confidence. The services that make up Breast Cancer Care’s Moving Forward package are therefore aimed at people who have finished, or are about to finish, their initial hospital-based treatment for primary breast cancer.
To become a Moving Forward volunteer you need to have had a personal diagnosis of primary breast cancer (and be at least one year post diagnosis) and be a confident and skilled communicator.
We are looking for a volunteer who is a good listener and is both non-judgemental and non-directive, who understands the importance of confidentiality
These courses take place over 3 consecutive weeks on a Monday. A volunteer would ideally be involved each week from 1pm – 4pm.
