Waiting for biopsy results on Friday

Hi

New to forum.  I had my first mammogram a few weeks ago and called back last Friday and told they had found a dense area on my left breast.  Had another mammogram and ultrasound - they could still see a lump so had a biopsy.  The radiographer said she could find two lymph nodes which looked normal and the lump is 1.8mm.  I suspected bad news as they were all looking so concerned!  I had a chat with a breast nurse and radiographer.  Radiographer said that they needed to wait for biopsy but could give a general idea and that was she will be very very surprised if there are no cancer cells.  So just waiting for her to be surprised now…

But expecting that I’ll need treatment - I’d like a little break from illnesses as I was only diagnosed with Menieres Disease last year.  I’m not sure how I feel about the likely breast cancer - pretty numb at the moment.

hi Lesley,
Welcome to the forum anyway.
This stage is always difficult to deal with, especially as you have the uncertainty of waiting for the results, but although it doesn’t feel like it, thank goodness something has been picked up so it can be dealt with.
If it is confirmed, then bc is very treatable now & has some of the best outcomes out there, as loads of us now know who’ve been through it.
Do let us know how you get on & if it is confirmed, then there is loads of support here from those of us where you are now, as well as those of us further down the line & out the other side.
