Waiting for Results

I was called for my first breast screening on 31st January and was told that a lot of people get called back so don’t be anxious if this happens, it will take about 3 weeks before you hear anything. Within a week I had a letter calling me back for 2nd stage screening, I have now had ultrasound and the needle biopsy and waiting for results. I am putting on a brave face for my partner as he is unwell with a heart condition but I am very frightened about the results and just wanted to share this.

Hi Sarah

Sorry you have had to post and are waiting for results I really hope they all come back o.k for you. The waiting is the the worst time and can remember it well back last March. This forum has been a life line for me but fingers crossed you will not need it further if you do however we are all here to help.

Hi Sarah,

I was also called back after my first routine mammogram so understand the multiple feelings I am sure you are going through.

This is a good place to share, as so many people here are going through or have been through the same thing.

For me I was unlucky, and had BC confirmed (Dec 11), and have had the lump removed, and now having radoitherapy. On the positive side because they caught it early I don’t need chemo, and the prognosis for lumps found in this way is very good. So if the news is not what you hope it isn’t then end of the world either.

I hope you get good news when you get your results, either way let us know. In the meantime if you have any questions please just ask.

If you want to talk to someone about any aspect of this there is a helpline here, and I expect one of the moderators will be along soon with the details.

Hi Sarah
I too was called back after routine screening. Unluckily was diagnosed with BC but caught early. Had WLE to remove lump yesterday and am home feeling bit sore but OK. My OH too is not in good health following a stroke several years ago and that has made me feel quite alone as I dont want to put any burden on him. This probably back fired as he is so ultra positive about my BC any one would think I had a cold! I have found this website a great source of strength to get through the waiting periods since my October recall to now. I have felt a real roller coaster of emotions but this site has been my outlet for them. Just post on it, to help you feel better and cope, Hugs to you I hope all goes well for you.
