Was diagnosed with secondaries in February to Lungs, Lung Pleura, Bones & Liver. Had a C.T scan yesterday to determine if the chemotherapy regime is working currently on weekly Taxol and yesterday was no. 8 have another 10 to go. My oncologist told me results will be ready within 48 hours and I asked if he could call me at home with them as I could not wait until next Tuesday for results ! So I am absolutely terrified now, the thought that this chemo regime might not be working doesnt bear thinking about it, but frightened to allow myself to think that there could be some good news. It has been knock after knock since February I honestly do not know how i or my family would cope with any more bad news.
Dear Maximise
I feel so much for you and I’ll be thinking of you and sending you good vibes that things are working for you. I know you are very scared and I so feel for you going through this. Holding your hand whilst you wait and sending you a gentle hug.
Hi, just chanced on this thread, and sending you all the luck in the world and a huge virtual hug. Hope you get the news you seek and the strength to carry on. much love. carol x
Hi just wanted to let you know that a friend with extensive secondaries has just had great results on weekly taxol - her liver and lymph tumours had disappeared! Do hope it works as well for you. Good luck xx
My mets are not as extensive as yours, but I know exactly what’s like before scans. Just been through the worst one last month with shocking news and still trying to come to terms with it all. I was absolutely terrified because both onc and I were expecting bad news, just how bad!
I had weekly Taxol last year and it worked very well. Not initially, thou. The 1st scan I had was over 4 months after it started and the shrinkage wasn’t a lot (from 30mm to 25mm). And then the 2nd scan I had a few months after it was finished, the primary tumour and lymph tumours were all gone!! So, even if it’s slight shrinkage, be happy about it and keep faith that it will carry on working, huh?
Hoping you will have good results and sending you positive thoughts
Hi everyone thankyou for your kind words and comments.
I received my results yesterday and thankfully the oncologist was encouraged with them. He says tumours in my liver are smaller and my bones are showing signs of healing, I mentioend my lung tumours but apparently these were microscopic at diagnosis and he says he is not overly concerned at the moment about the lungs. So all in i think quite good, i dont know percentage shrinkage or anything like that but i have a meeting with him on tuesday and will be armed with my list of questions !!! I have another 10 chemo sessiosn to go so i really hope at the end up there is a real good result but no i am happy with yesterdays news i realise i could have got told otherwise.
thanks ladies for listening it has been a fraught few days love to all xxx
