Hi everyone, I am a newcomer on this site and have read many interesting conversations so I thought I had better introduce myself as I am sure this will be put on daily for a dose of support!!.
I was diagnosed on MAy 19th with a grade 3 invasive ductal cancer and will not have my MRI scan until MOnday 9th June as our local machine has broken down!!. I then see the consultant on the 17th to hear what lies ahead, he originally thought chemo, then surgery, then hormone and poss radiotherapy. when I spoke to the BC nurse she said it could be a possible 6-8 weeks before treatment starts which horrified me as well as made me very angry as I want to start my treatment yesterday!. The next day she explained that time scale was for surgery but if chemo is the route then 1-2 weeks.I can’t say I am not scared however I know it NEEDS to be done so lets get on wiht it.
I feel really relieved now my hubby and I have told our 7 year old son that I am not well and there is a lump etc. I don’t have to keep lying about why I am not at work!
Hope you all have a good day
Love Sharon xx

Hi Sharon,
I sorry you have to join us here but it is a great place where you can rant and rave and laugh and cry what everyou feellike, sometimes you cant do all these at home…
I was diagnosed last july with grade 3 invasive ductal the same as youmine was 16mm ,best bit of advice I was given was try to take one stage at a time and try not to think about the next bit till you get there,. I was told will normally take about a year. My friend had op first, then had less chemo then me and then rads so she has finished, cos different consultants etc do diff things. I wanted chemo in me quick so I had that first,
good luck with it all, this site has been amazing help and support for me,
just ask what you want or share your worries and someone will help and support youor point you in right direction.
Take care
Dawn X
