hi i’m new to this. got a recall on a mamogram went last monday and they did the tests took a biopsy. have to go back tomorrow afternoon for results. don’t know how i’ve got this far. haven’t told anyone about it. lts of reasons. sister died ot BC father of bowel cancer so the history isn’t good. my mind is going crazy. they first of all couldn’t find the lump that showed up on the mamogram on the ultra sound so felt relieved. was sent for more mamograms and they came back and told me that although they wern’t particularily woried they thought i should have a biopsy. what does that mean!! half of me wishes tomorrow was over and the other half wishes it never comes. have drank a lot of wine this last week!! it’s been good to get this off my chest (forgive the pun) XXX S

I know the shock is really awful, but this forum will help, any questions, worries etc someone will be there for you. The biopsy will determine if there is anything wrong or not, hopefully everything will be fine. Please come back and tell us how you get on, good luck for tomorrow, all the very best xx

sometimes on mammos they can see areas like calcifications… sometimes these calcifications can be pre-cancerous or even a very tiny cancer but very often they are just a collection of benign calcifications… calcs tend not to show up on ultrasound so this maybe what they were looking at.

but until the biopsy results are back they cannot say for sure if it is cancerous or not but they are usually giving a grading system out of 5… your situation sounds like a 3 that is its indeterminate in nature otherwise they would normally give you an indication if they thought it was more serious.

will be keeping my fingers crossed its good news… but we are all here for you if it isnt so positive.

i’m very wound up this morning. i think i’ve lost the ability to breathe deeply! and i go to yoga every week. my appointment is at 2.30 not sure what to do until then. read 2 chapters of a book earlier and don’t remember much about the plot. i just wish i could switch my brain off. i’ll keep you posted about the result.

hi just back from hospital. really good news. its benign they think its scar tissue. so relieved but i know everyone will not get such news so i’m very humbled. thanks for your support and i wish all of you the very best
