Ok, will try to summarise! Went to docs with really itchy boob, given eczema cream with follow up in 2 wks. After about 10 days no improvement and noticed areola had a little indent so went back and got referral. Appointment this Thursday. Been obsessed with checking for last 2-3wks, boob just looks sore, itchy, nipple flatter and doesn’t hurt when I squeeze (usually would), upper back ache and boob tenderness. Also have discovered a couple of lumps. The first my husband said just feels like gristle (I don’t agree), last night he agreed he could ‘feel something’ in second area. Only told a handful of people and have been asked a few times ‘have you changed washing powder’! Hmm, yes I wash one cup in one powder the other in another powder!
Needless to say it’s all I can think about and will be shocked if it’s nothing, so hoping for an infection.
Interested to hear from people going through similar thing, and what your symptoms are and the outcome? xx

I looked online as you probably did and didn’t find good news. I guess you’re like me, and thought you’d never be in this situation. “What have I done to deserve this? I must admit, over the last week I have been randomly stopping my husband to have more cuddles than usual. 2 days to go! Are you also waiting on your referral? What symptoms have you had?
My head is a mess, I can go from thinking the worst to thinking it’s nothing, back to thinking the worst in the space of a minute! I know i shouldn’t but am definately playing the guessing game. And stupid thoughts, like what if my nipple decides to sticks out on the day and it looks like I’m imagining things! Suppose looking like a fool should be low down on my list of concerns…
Hiya, I have recently been through something slightly similar. Have you been given any aantibiotics?
I had my appointment today, had itching and very tender lump in one breast, the gp said it was plumsized! She gave me a week of antibiotics and referred me. After taking the antibiotics the tenderness went away and the lump shrank.
I went to my referral today but they couldn’t find an actual lump on the ultrasound, just very lumpy breast tissue. So I was sent home 
I did not have a lot of itching but definitely had a little. Also you have to try not to keep checking it because every little lump, bump or dent will make you worry when it is probably nothing. 80% of referrals are not breast cancer I hope this makes you feel better.

Wasn’t given antibiotics, just cream. And it has been very itchy, not constantly but several times a day. I think it’s the flattened/retracted nipple that’s worrying me the most, I’ve tried looking for benign conditions that could cause this, and not having much luck. Still, only 1 day to go and whatever the outcome at least I will know. Hoping it is an infection of some sort, then I can dump this weight that’s on my shoulders - or if not at least I will know what I am dealing with rather than trying to guess!
