Just wondered if anyone had an event planned or was thinking about planning an event for October in Warwickshire. I feel like I need a project but am very much an ideas person and don’t have an awful lot of free time to make my ideas happen! Would love to get away from the whole “wear it pink” thing and organise an event to promote awareness, particularly among younger women.
Would be really interested to hear your thoughts

What kind of event were you thinking of? Mainly a social event or something more formal? I’m West Midlands, so I could probably get to an event, but might not be able to do to much setting up. Meeting for coffee or lunch someplace like Stratford or Warwick might be the simplest thing or might be a starting point for organising. If you were thinking about a charity coffee morning or something like that, the BCC people might have some help or ideas.
If you know anyone who is associated with a choir, you could ask them about a fund-raising concert. Many good amateur choirs are happy to do this. (You might need to arrange the venue.) Or a band–but you should offer to pay professional musicians.
I’m sure we could do with more in the general area, so if I can help, I will.
What about a fashion show?
Thank you ladies, I’ve been mulling this over all day! I definately like the idea of something fashion/beauty orientated and wondered about a kind of large scale “Girls Night In”. This could include a fashion exchange and a few beauty treatments, nail art etc. I have a girlriend who works in events who is always telling me if ever I wanted her to she could get some really high quality raffle prizes.
Stratford-on-Avon would be a lovely location V, I am going to have a look online now at some venues!
I am a complete novice at all this so aswell as ideas and offers of help locally I would love to hear from anyone who has experience of organising these things!
