We had a party

Hi all

Well the weekend is over. I’m kn…d, but happy.

We picked daughter and grandson up at Preston on Friday evening and went through the illuminations. His reaction was brilliant. He kept saying I see a light at every lamppost going trhough Lytham, but when we got to Star Gate and he could see them stretching out in front of his his little face was a picture. He managed to stay awake for the hour and a half it took to drive through them.

It was quick tidy by hubby and daughter Sat morning and birthday party for 3 year old with buffet for 18 (my contribution).

It was up early on Sunday (no rest for wicked) and all in new outfits for 1+3/4 drive to Wetherby for nieces’ wedding. Beautiful day! Got home just before 10 and fell into bed.

No-one mentioned any dust - see I’m having a party, and I didn’t bother about it.

Take care all

Hi Marilyn, I guess you’re in the same area of the NorthWest as I am and also the same age which hospital did you attend and what have you had done. Its always good to hear from people in the same area we all sometimes feel so alone

Take care, Lou

Hi Lou

I’m in Burnley but had my op - mastectomy with TRAM recon- in Chorley, as Burnley/Blackburn do not have reconstructive surgeon yet. Had chemo back at Burnley.

Are you anywhere near. I’m back at work but only doing part-time. How are you doing? Perhaps we could meet if we’re not too far apart.

Hi Marilyn,

I live in Preston but had my mastectomy in Chorley in April 2004. I had a reconstruction with expander implant on 31st August this year. I had no chemo or radiotherapy thank goodness, I was one of the lucky ones! I also work part time but don’t go back to work until Sunday of this week.

I would love to meet you and swap stories etc.

Its great to hear you so chipper, nice one!

Brilliant Marilyn!

I am so glad the dust wasn’t an issue. I did know where your head was at when you wrote that post though. Made up you had a great wk end. These times are so important to us, we should relish them and enjoy everyday!

Love Irene

Thanks All

I think one of the reasons dust wasn’t an issue was that the house was so full, finding somewhere to sit without falling over a child was more important.

Lou - I’m busy for the next couple of weeks- making the most of feeling a bit better and having weekends away in the caravan and a holiday at half term. So hopefully in November if that is OK.
