To all that walked the Blenheim Palace Ribbon Walk on May 31st,
I’d had a mastectomy & reconstruction only a few weeks before, it was my birthday weekend and my partner and I had managed to get out of the city for a few days in the country - feeling pretty ropey but glad to get some fresh air in my lungs, we ventured out for a dog walk and were astonished and delighted to see hundreds of you stomping through the village in all your bright pink finery. Being in the stunned bubble that is the shock of a diagnosis, we hadn’t known anything about the walk. All we could do was smile & wave and say ‘Good Luck’ & ‘Well Done’ as we passed you, but inside, with our experience all so raw, we were very moved and grateful to see your wonderful efforts to raise money to help so many women like me & our families.
Thank you. x
