weak hand/arm

I haven’t been on this site for a while as I’m now back at work full time and have had some family problems, leaving me with little time for anything else.
I’ve noticed thsat when I take my sleeve and glove off ( I wear it all the time apart from in bed) my arm/hand feel very weak and I have poor grip. Is this normal or do |I need to step up exercises?

I’m having to accept that my lymphodema isn’t going to go away as my BC nurse originally thought it might as it was mild. Stupidly I over did lifting at Christmas and my hand/arm which were almost back to normal swelled up again. I do get help at wotk with lifting but was asked to take minutes at a meeting recently and felt too embarrassed to ask someone else to take over when my hand began to ache so of course the swelling got worse. I don’t want my colleagues to think I’m always whinging and saying I can’t do things. Not sure how to get round this!

Take care

Hi littlemrs

Nice to hear from you again - sorry to hear that the lymphoedema is playing up, tho’. :frowning:

I’ve been trying to think of something that might make note-taking easier. Some kind of recording device perhaps? Something that would let you just switch it on and then write/type everything up later on at a more leisurely speed? Would your employer stump up for that?

I know it seems pathetic to say to your colleagues you can’t do what must seem to be very ordinary activities. Any chance of a bit of job swapping going on? Perhaps there might be something that they utterly hate doing that you could do for them while they lift things for you?

Sorry, probably not much help - I do know how you feel, tho’
