weight gain/tired--how's your thyroid??

ages ago i was cold and tired and putting on weight. a nutritionalist suggested it was my thyroid. the doc did the tests and said, no you in the range, very near the bottom but normal. so i asked if i could take the thyroxin anyway. Lo and behold all my symptoms disappaeared.

since then it has been a constant battle, because the annual test show that i am taking too much, but i feel crap on the recommended dose.

suddenly since my treatment i am putting on weight, feeling cold(in august!!) and i am wondering about my dose.

why am i boring you all with this?? I am just wondering how many women on hear know if they have, or suspect that they might have a thyroid problem, and then when they take tamoxifen it gets worse??

I am going to try switching from the NHS thyroxine to natural ground thyroid glands to see if that suits me better.and this looks like an excuse for more reading–theres a couple of good books there (if you ignore the weight loss ones

Hi O and L

7 years ago I had a medical (not at my doctors) and was found to have low thyroid function. I showed my GP the results and he wanted me to be tested again. This time I was near the bottom of the range so no action taken. But I find it hard to lose weight and am always tired - this has got worse since I was on tamoxifen. I had blood tests at the doctors a couple of weeks ago and the surgery rang to say they wanted to re-do one of the tests after a month. Maybe that’s the one for thyroid function.

If you find anyhing out about natural ground thyroid, would you post or pm please?

i have ordered some grass fed, organic freeze dried ground thyroid, and som BSE free, grass fed beef adrenal glands. I have also suspected my adrenal glands are low. I have discolored marks where my bra straps and knicker dig in, apparantly thats a sign, and i react badly to bright light–another sign.

Cant do any harm can it?? It will just break the bank. I will pm you the website
