weight management

Hi everyone,

No weight loss to report here (just thought I’d redress the balance lol). Well done to those of you who are managing it. I have had a week of not really trying but ready to do a post pay day healthy shop now!

Exercise is the answer I know and well done DJ. I am still at the limping through my working week stage and collapsing at 7pm. I know it’s a vicious circle.

I will report in next week with better attitude and a pound off!

Take care girls

Well I have just been and got weighed, lost another 3 lbs (over 2 weeks), that makes it 13 lbs in total now and I weigh less than I weighed when I was diagnosed back in July. Still a fair way to go, but moving in the right direction

Anne

Well done Anne!

I was wondering if hot flushes burn up many calories?

LOL !!! It would be wonderful if the flushes were burning their way through the pounds I would quite look forward to them !!! I have a 15 minute walk from the station to the hospital each way for 25 days so I know hubby will march me along !!! Hoping that that will keep the pounds at bay - wishful thinking !!!

I’ve been given permission to stop Tamoxifen for a couple of months, so I’m looking forward to seeing whether that will help with the weight loss. I walk the dog with my OH once or twice a day (others would call it more of a forced march but the dog doesn’t mind) so I’m not completely sedentary, but could probably do with getting a bit more exercise. Now where did I put that swimming costume…?

Thank you for the thread it is keeping me on the straight and narrow. Six pounds down only thirty more to go!!!

First pound gone - bye bye and don’t come back!

Alice, hahaha about hot flashes! I am still firmly in the land of chemo so not dieting as such - that is an understatement: no one said you will eat twice your bodyweight daily during chemo!
Any movie I have ever seen people on chemo were THIN. EMACIATED. It is not a complaint, I hate throwing up, just an observation. Here I am, hoping hot flashes will burn off the calories from the boxes of icecream I am stuffing my face with…

Julianna

Julianna, it’s to cool you down, you’re not meant to EAT it!!

Yaay! Wearing a pair of trousers today that were too tight a couple of months ago.

My progress is painfully slow, BUT it is progress and it’s all in the right direction.

No zumba tonight because I’m going to be staying at a friend’s house, horse & dog sitting for the next few days. I’m hoping that walking the dogs and feeding 7 horses will make up for it!

Dx

SOC, I too was disappointed with the chemo they give for BC. I asked them for some skinny chemo but that just didn’t happen… oh well, as long as it does its job we just have to put up with the extra poundage for a little bit. Don’t be too hard on yourself, and perhaps get in some bags of steam-in-the-microwave veg that take no effort at all to cook so you can have a plate of veg any time you feel hungry. No? Oh well, it’s a nice idea!

Choccie - it’s a lovely idea; the trouble is that I would then want to put butter on the steamed veg, or a nice hollandaise sauce…

I’m just trying to be good about all things sweet and carbs in general.

It was Oscar Wilde who said; “The only thing I can’t resist is temptation”.

A plate of veg with a knob of butter on top is probably a bit better for you than a cream cake, so it’s all relative. (Oh dear, now I’ve got a real hankering for a cream cake…)

Hi, pls can I join!! I put on 1 1/2 stone over 30 chemo sessions nd now am on a 2 month break. I’ve lost 5lb so far nd thought if I post here it will give me motivation to not get off the couch nd eat a biscuit, but to have some green tea inatead!! I will post after the next lb!!

Good luck to all who are trying to loose a little!! It is soooooo slow! S Xx Xx

One week with weightlossresources and logging my intake, lost 2lb,aiming for 1lb a week so pleased with myself.Broke my promise to join Slimming world again decided to go it alone and online.
(((HUGS)))xxMavis

Hi everyone can i jump in too please. I managed to loose 7lb before my chemo ect but now at the other end of it all and back at work(in a bakery) I’m starting to put a 1lb or two back on.
Joined weight watchers last week and got weighed on mon lost 2lb,only because i was overeating so much the week before i put 3lb on!!!Has anyone else done the old weight watchers and find the pro points system really hard.Im back to eating bad again this week as its all more points than it used to be, also a mexican meal on sat that has been arranged as my back to work meal.I was overweight before by about a stone so really need to loose it and I’ve just entered race for life so need weight off. Trouble is when I’m at work and exercising i get really tired then i end up cheating and eating rubbish. Only good thing is i won’t touch microwave meals and i eat a lot more fruit and veg now .God its hard work!!
Good luck everyone xx

You’re not alone Mavis you’re with us and it’s free
And since we all know there’s no such thing as a free lunch, bad luck that’s no lunch then! (joke). Have a virtual banana instead.

I jumped on a friend’s bathroom scales this afternoon (with her permission) and it’s true i’m back over 12stone7 :(( I thought it might just be that my scales had lost its joie de vivre with all this being jumped on and maybe i needed a new one, but sadly that’s not the real issue. Can i share that banana?

I have been so good this week but I have put on two pounds…,it must be all that hair that us growing on my face rather than my head!!!
Cackles

Yeah I was wondering if a haircut would be useful.
I was also wondering about temporary spray-in hair colour - bright green to go with a macmillan event vest - I might need an emergency haircut after that! Does anyonw know, Is it true they wash out completely? Figured that people can’t stare at my hair and my boob at the same time…
