–relaxation and visualisation- —i couldnt sleep for a year after my surgery and decided to try the above classes and they have been a godsend i now sleep well and can relax anytime i feel stressed the classes are every week and i have found new friends who have all had breast cancer and found the friendship of people in the same boat as you invaluable. i have also tried reflexology, reiki and have started a coourse at college for alternative therapies so try anything that makes you feel good.
Hi buzzer I was very interested to read your post about the relaxation and visualisation classes you attend. Are they run by the hospital, someone privately or what? The reason I ask is that I have a close friend (a healer, like myself) who for many years back in the 70s and 80s ran classes for cancer victims, which included relaxation, visualisation, advice on diet etc., way ahead of its time.
When she found I’d got bc she voiced the possibility of setting them up again, to include hands on healing (in my case Reiki). I would be very interested to hear all about your classes, how you found out about them, whether they’re sponsored by Breast Cancer Care etc.
If we were to start up such a class, we’d obviously have to check out the local hospitals to see what is already on offer, because it wouldn’t do to step on anyone’s toes.
I’m quite happy for the moderators to give you my email address.

Your post is in Welcome to the ‘Family, partners and friends’ Chat Room. I’ll start it as a new topic for you in this room -Complementary Therapies - you are more likely to get a response here I think. You might also find ringing the BCC helpline on 0800 800 600 useful.
Kind regards
