Well ladies im back ... reffered to breast clinic again ; (

Hi all,

I got referred to breast clinic a few months ago as I had discharge coming from both breasts. I went and got examined … no scan or anything. He was quiet happy that there was nothing to worry about. Im only 26 and he couldnt feel any lumps.

Unfortunatley I have developed a very bumpy area under my right arm, top of the breast. its quiet fleshy but there are 2 substancial lumps there. Been referred to breast clinic again and my doctor hopes they are cysts.

Problem is I had my appointment which is a 5 and a half week wait. I am in a right state ; ( Called them begging for a earlier appomitment but nothing available. My only chance is to call every day fr a cancellation xxx

Really sorry that you are referred again - and hoping the investigations don’t show anything too sinister. 5 and a half weeks is far too long for you to wait and worry - keep phoning; I did and got in quite quickly.
Thinking of you - let us know how you get on and keep in touch

Agree with Frances…thats too long…phone, moan, complain, demand…you need to get this sorted! My daughter was 26…they took her seriously and it WAS sisnister…do not be fobbed off…!

Hi Maisiemoo

Have you tried going back to your GP and asking to have the referral made “Urgent”. Five and a half weeks of waiting would be enough to send anyone round the bend- let your GP know just how you feel.
Insist on a scan/mammogram maybe ask the GP to make the request for you.
Good luck and lots of hugs.

Yes I went bk to my GP but she said 5 weeks was fine ; (

Hi all,

Well I couldnt cope with it so I just went to have a pricate scan. The consultant examined me first and said he could feel the lumps so I would need a scan. Lady scanned me and she said she couldnt see any lumps and that it looked like a healthy breast. Im guessing then it is just lumpy breast tissue because she said there were no lumps or cysts on the scan? Has anyone had this xx

H maisiemoo,
Sorry you had to go private to get some peace of mind but glad they found nothing.
I have not had the same as you but a couple of my aunts have lumpy breasts and have quite often needed to be checked but they have always been ok.
Good luck!

Hi maisiemoo

So pleased that you don’t have to join our club and that you now have peace of mind, Sorry you had to go private though. One of my friends went through the same thing several years ago and was told “you have lumpy breasts” just be aware of it and keep doing your “self checks”.
All the best.

Hi Maisiemoo,

I posted on here a few months ago as I was (and am!) going through a similar experience. I noticed an area of my breast felt bruised and discovered a lump in the same area. I was referred urgently as my mum had cancer. I had a scan and fine needle biopsy and they came back as it being ‘normal’ breast tissue. The lump didn’t even show up as a lump on the scan, which is bizarre as it is a palpable. They asked me to go back four weeks later and did the same tests and I got the same results again!

I’m just waiting for a letter to arrive asking me to go back again as it’s nearly 3 months since my last appointment. I still have the lump and it’s still painful so I think I’ll be having a core biopsy this time as I only narrowly escaped it last time. I am relieved the lump is nothing sinister but it doesn’t seem to fit into any of the descriptions I’ve read on the internet, or to be linked to hormones and I find the whole thing confusing. I also now have a constantly swollen gland in my neck on the same side of my body as the lump on so will be mentioning this too.

Sorry for all the waffling- just wanted to let you know that you’re not on your own and someone else is going through the same thing!
