hi sharon… i havn’t got them myself but they are quite common if you have IBC (the type of cancer i have…) so i have read alot of posts about them… They seem to present in different ways… some people have described a tiny red dot or loads of them - like a rash and other people describe something like a small white pimple… If you google skin mets (in the images section) there are some pictures but they seem to be quite advanced cases… Most of the skin mets i have heard about have developed very close to the scar line…
Hope someone else can come along and help you better…

Hi Sharon,
I do not have IBC/skin mets but a 6 mths after a mastectomy in 1996 I had small red spots under my scar line which looked like flea bites (courtesy of my cats). I wasnt concerned - they didnt itch but then I dont often react to bites. Fortunately I had my 6mth check up with the surgeon and as soon as he saw them he biospied them and was very certain they were a recurrence.

I have skin mets on my mastectomy scar. They are little red lumps with a rubbery feel. A few are weeping and I am controlling this with suda cream. My oncologists don’t seem that interested in them as I have tumours in my neck and shoulder which are more immediately life threatening. I haven’t had them biopsied and just assume they are skin mets. The whole of my chest area is red and purple from enlarged veins, and the skin mets just add to the unsightly mess…but somehow just get used to it…as you do…as we do…as I do.
I think skin mets can present in several different ways so if you are worried get them checked out by BCN or consultant.
best wishes
Jane
My skin mets first presented as a flat red rash, progressed to raised red bumps and one that looks just klike a flea bite. They are all below my mast scar line. One of them bleeds occasionally.
(I did have IBC)
