Just to let you know my 2nd FEC on Tues went OK, came home looking green again but wasn’t as nauseous this time and no sickness just slept it off. The usual feeling low until yesterday and tired but feeling slightly more positive today. But what i want to know is what is in the anti sickness. I have three lots to take 2 little steroids in the morning followed half an hour later by zovirax (i think) and metroclopamide if i feel i need it. They said they may!!! make you constipated but that is the understatement of the year, has anyone else suffered, sorry really nice subject on a Sat night. I do take digestive enzymes and drink lots of water but any other advice? Thanks
Hope you are all feeling positive
See how you go with the metroclpamide…they were horrible for me…made the room turn around and around and the walls move and I thought I could see things in the walls as well… never been on a trip before but I am sure I was on a few with those tablets… if you have problems then ring someone and get advice…
Sleep… the best medicine and eat something every hour if you can stomach it but not your fav foods! Eat lots of fibre for the week following treatment…keep you regular and drink drink drink… and SLEEP!
Good luck and lots of post chemo huggles to you xxx
Yep constipation really bad for first few days after - try to drink loads of water, take dulcolax and lactulose - sometimes helps sometimes dont - then after that I am running all the time -!!! the joys the joys
I suffered really bad constipation for 3 out of 4 of my chemos - given Senna to take, and although only take 1 a day for two days, seems to do the trick. But it is awful isn’t it, I just can’t explain to my OH how bad it gets. Speak to your chemo nurse or someone and they will give you something to help.
Hi zjlove,
Hope your feeling a little better, fortunately i didn’t suffer too bad with FEC, had severe heartburn and sore mouth botbnof which i was given medication and mouthwash for and helped immensely.
Sorry i can’t answer your questions…but wanted to wish you well with your chemo journey.
Yes really bad constipation, leading to piles!! now take lactolose syrup 2 days before cycle starts then take over the 3 days that need to take sickness pills. That seems to keep it down a little bit, but still not completely. Movicol is supposed to be really good as it softens aswell but i find it makes me feel really sick whilst drinking it!!!
Yes to constipation, Yes to sickness, yes to nausea, yes to sleeping all the time. I too had my 2nd FEC on tues and thankfully this time has got better but i was put on syringe driver due to excessive sickness, nausea for 9 days following first FEC. Only just feeling that am able to get back on line after 1st cycle. Ended up hospitalised due to excessive cold sores and infection from them even though I was religious about mouth hygiene, mouthwashes and eating pineapple. The drugs in the anti sickness making me all of the above still but given tabs for constipation which then gives me cramps leading to runs. HELP!!! One consolation though is that it seems to be attacking my system so in must be working and will be for the best in the long run. Just not feeling the vibe at the minute… Anyone else feeling the vibes. Still 2 down and 4 more to go. Roll on January.
LOL
