I have one more Tax left and no rads so i was just wondering what to expect next… what sort of test will i have to see how things have gone?, or will i just be left to get on with things… any ideas?
Cheers Charlotte x
Hi Charlotte,
you won’t be given any tests to see if the chemo has worked but you can expect to have regular checks like mammograms and meetings with your oncologist and consultant.
It can feel really strange once active treatment is over because your life revolves around trips to the hospital, plus you had a support network in place. So be prepared to feel a bit uncertain in the weeks/months following as you get used to trying to find some kind of ‘normal’ in your life again.
I found the BCC Moving Forward Resource pack very helpful in understanding what happens next. I think there is also a booklet about follow up appointments that you can download too.
Nymeria
I *think* if it’s primary and they got all the tumour/s out, then theres no tests they can do because they are shooting minute cells that are undetectable by blood tests or tumour markers etc.
They can’t see if cells have been killed unless they are shrinking a tumour ?
Anyone help me out here?
