Dear Santa,
You might recall that on my birthday last year, a week before Christmas, you sent me several lumps. I wasn’t sure what to do at first, but I’m pretty much an expert now.
To be honest with you, I’ve had enough of playing the cancer game. I don’t think I’m very good at it. I’ve lost my business, a few friends and a breast, which I was rather fond of. My arm doesn’t work properly and so some of my favourite things-to-do are out of the question. It’s not the most fun a girl can have. I realised it was all getting out of hand when the poisoning bit nearly killed me.
So if you wouldn’t mind, it’d be nice if we could play something else now. I know that the rules say I’ve got another 6 months’ shenanigans to go, but I’d be jolly pleased if you’d part-exchange the rest of the game for something a little less risky. Or perhaps send me a get-out-of-jail card, in case things get any worse.
And if that sits well with you, I know a few thousand others who’d like to renegotiate the rules too.

Update to previous comment. The look on my kids faces Christmas morning when they realise I’ve had two more Christmas’s with them than originally thought!!!
