My wife started on Xeloda and Taxotere ( 11 sessions ) then just Xeloda, then just Femara which did not hold it back.
She has had six FEC and they say they are going to " modify" it and start her on it again.
From what I read here most people only have 4 to 6 FEC, we are fairly sure she cannot have Tax or Xeloda again, anyone have any ideas what " modifying " it means. Next appt this Friday as her bloods were too low last Friday.

Probably that they will adjust the formulation to fit her particular state and response. The individual elements in FEC can be altered.
Hello Terry
I am having 6 x fec - last one next week. I was told I would have graduated doses but had full one first time. Then it was reduced by a quarter ‘because of toxicity’ - well 2 drugs were.
Since your wife has already had other drugs and 6 doses of FEC it looks as though they are going to try to give stronger doses of one or other of the 3 drugs [that all work differently and have different side effects] to try to zap the bc.
You and your wife should really ask the oncologist to explain what they want to do so that you both know what to expect re side effects and outcome. That way you will better able to cope and won’t be worried and stressed out with unnecessary uncertainties. This is a difficult time for you both and you need all the help, information and support that you can get. I’m a retired nurse teacher so I do know that lack of/incomplete information can cause a lot of worry. Thank goodness current policies aim to give patients and relatives as much or as little information as they want. So don’t be afraid to ask the omcologist.
Best wishes to you both xfeistysister
Thank you Feisty. Trouble is ( here in Spain ) they do not like to admit any thought of defeat ( Roman Catholic doctora ( female ) ) so they try really hard just to say muy bien, muy bien ( very good, very good ) all the time when it is very obvious that my wife now looks like she has cancer. When my wife said she wants her body to go to science, the doctora got very angry !! as this is not the catholic way even though the local teaching hospital is always looking out for donors.
However I will take your advice and really push for answers on Friday.
Thanks again
