Does any one know what percentage of people diagnosed with breast cancer need to have chemotherapy?
And does anyone know what percentage of people diagnosed get secondaries?
I’m not sure on percentages needing chemotherapy, as there are so many different types of Breast Cancer and chemo isn’t relevant for many.
I think I have read somewhere that the percentage of people with BC who develop secondaries is around 20%, but again this is just a statistic and advances since I read this may have lowered the percentage further. Again ‘stastically’ the chances are higher of developing secondaries with some kinds of BCs, the size/grade of tumour and lymph nodes affected etc, but even this is not a definate indicator. I guess we all hope to be in that 80%!
