Hi ladies
If you have had an oopherectomy by keyhole surgery, just wondering how soon after you could drive or lift things (like a 2 year old!).
Thanks in advance

Hi Kayty
My op is booked for 9th July.
Just wondering how you found the op? Were you a day patient? Much pain afterwards? When was yours? Are you up and about yet?
Lets hope others can give us more details. Like when can you swim after ooph?
Hi Ladies,
I had oopherectomy and full hystrectomy in feb 09 (not by keyhole though) i was back driving after 3 weeks i started by doing little journeys first and built back up to normal driving after 4 weeks.
Good Luck for your op maybe someone can come along soon with a bit more info for you.
Take Care

general recommendations following abdo surgery is no driving for 4-6 weeks so long as wound has healed up… for keyhole surgery its generally quicker… they should usually give you an info leaflet detailing things like pain relief, risk of infection, resuming physical activities and driving.
anyway hope your all doing ok
i actually found a post gynae surgery leaflet from south devon nhs which might be useful…

Hi Girls
Lolly - hi yes am up and about after op last thurs but still have pain and very tired. everyday is a little better. Glad its over and done with now. Still unsure of cans and cannot do as I do not have any info and the leaflets seem to give advice for hysterectomies!
I am going to e-mail my BC Nurse as she is really good and will post her advice on here.
Best wishes for your op and keep in touch x
Hi All,
I had keyhole oopherectomy in february and was back at work after a week and driving. Apart from the initial discomfort on waking from the op, I was absolutely fine and had no problems- hope this helps
