Had my lumpectomy/ lymph node removal 27th July. Saw Consultant 10 days ago, good news for me no spread but need hormone and Rads. He said he was referring me to Oncologist. I know its only 10 days ago but thought these things had to move quickly. Am I being impatient

I saw my surgeon two weeks after my mastectomy and my onc 3 weeks later then started chemo 10 days later.
My letter with my appointment to see my onc came a week before I saw him.
Hi Normski, have you rang your bc nurse to ask about it, i was twenty days after surgery when i saw the onc, do ring your nurse, you don’t have to be sitting worrying about it, she will be able to give you some idea

Thanks Alison and Margaret. Will stop worrying but am ringing my bc nurse this afternoon. It’s strange isn’t it how we don’t really want these things done but we know we have to and we want it NOW!

In my hosp they like you to get over your surgery before starting chemo. You are not having that but you need to be healed before you have rads. I had a long wait because results of further tests were not back and it was 9 wks before I saw onc. Chemo started the following wk though.
The waiting is very hard, your BC nurse should be able to give you some idea how long your wait will be.
