Hello Ladies
Well, in Scotland the sun has finally come out for the 2nd day running!
I was just wondering whether there was anyone who could offer advice and reassurance about hair loss. I completed my 4th Epi on July 24th and have just finished my 1st cycle of Xeloda tablets. I used the cold cap through the Epi treatments and managed to keep probably 40%-50% of my hair - so reasonable covering but quite thin. The thing is my hair is still shedding and no sign of any new growth (not worried about the new stuff just want to keep what I’ve held onto!). Can any of you great ladies offer any advice on when my hair should stop coming out?
Best wishes to all of you.
Carol
Hiya Carol,
I am on arm 2 of the TACT 2 trial, so had accelerated Epi and am now on standard CMF. I never used the cold cap. My hair started to grow back before I had actually finished the Epi. However, a few days after my first CMF my eyebrows and eyelashes (that had so far remained intact) all but vanished! Weird but common by all accounts. I finished my second full cycle of CMF last weds and my hair has now put a real spurt on! Even my eyebrows and eyelashes are now reappearing! I guess the rate at which our hair falls out and then regrows is very individual. But, I know the Epi can stay in your system for quite some time, and I was warned that I may continue to lose hair even when I had finished it.
Just to reassure you, my head was showing no real signs of regrowth and then all this ‘fluff’ started to appear! It happened literally overnight. Yours will stop shedding and start growing any time now I reckon,
Take care,
Kelly

Thanks Kelly for the re-assurance. I don’t think I can sustain much more hair loss before going bald! I’m on TACT 2 trial arm 4 so also had accelerated Epi as you did. Hopefully the ‘fluff’ will start to fill in the gaps!
Thanks again.
Carol
