Hi Jane,
Couple of responses…
I used Anna Bandana too - which was great for me
Secondly, I had waist length hair before this but had it cut to a chin length bob before I started chemo. This meant it didn’t pull quite so much when my scalp went tight and ‘hair fall’ began. My hair loss began 10 days after my first FEC (chose not to use cold cap) and most of it came out by day 12 :-(. The hairdresser who’d cut it for me did the clipper job in a private area of the store, then fitted and trimmed my wig. I am one of the few (so far as I can tell) who could not tolerate a wig as my head was just too itchy/sensitive but I soon got used to scarves etc. The photo I use as my avatar is about 3 months post chemo; I now have thick wavy, if still pretty short, hair which draws lots of admiring glances.
I really hope all goes well for you. You will know if/when to get the clippers - and it’s YOUR decision not anyone elses.
