Janice-glad to read that your OH’s op went well
Stella-you sound like you had great holiday…I didn’t need to go away to put weight on!! Staying home for christmas was all it took!! I’ve resolved to lose a bit over the next few months as my daughter graduates in June and there will be photos and that thought is spurring me on to do something about it!
Doz-So envious of you going to Wimbledon…how Fab-u-lous!
GI Jane-will be thinking of you today and sending you a virtual hand to hold at your appointment;hope it goes well
Got to dash now as going to work today so love and hugs to everyone and wishing you all a Happy & Peaceful New Year
GIJane hope all went well today I was the quiet one in the corner ha ha.
Things not so good here hubby discharged lunchtime Friday back in A & E that night so now has catheter back in for at least a week.Bit De Javu as it happened to me last year after my op.So he is not a ahppy bunny at present but at least bleeding has stopped so fingers crossed everything is healing and will be fine this time next week.
Wishing all my wonderful Flutterby friends a HAPPY AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR love hugs and spoons Janice xxxxx
Oh, Janice - not the sort of experience to re-experience!
Doz, I looked up the Wimbles website on how to get tickets and it was enough to put me off! Great for you to have! (not jealous!!!)
Appt went really well - thanks for holding hand… doctor I’ve not seen or heard of (Registrar) who listened… didn’t tell me I was mad… examined me… said it was OK… offered me a CT scan if I wanted further reassurance… (said thanks but no thanks) and signed me off to the breast clinic, but with an open appointment so I can go back if I’m worried at any point. Lovely, lovely young man. Wanted to take him home!!! The quality of his attention was fantastic… makes me realise how powerful what we do is, when it’s done well… Really wanted to bring him home! Not like me!!!
I echo Janice
Wishing all my wonderful Flutterby friends a HAPPY AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR love hugs and spoons Jane xxxx
So glad for you flutterby!! I will take the hand back for the next person and hey didn’t giggle! I see he was a REALLY nice young man? Made me smile but know exactly what you mean it makes the a experience much more positive despite the fact it wasn’t a nice thing to have happen. Right lovely flutterbys got to go but wish you all health, happiness and much love for the coming year take care all Em xxxxxx
Janice, I was so pleased for you both that everything went well with the operation and I hope O.H. soon recovers from his set back. It all must have been very worrying for you and I’m wishing you both good health in the New Year, flutterby!
Emmy, I’m smiling at O.H. and his retirement. I bet he can’t quite believe it! I’m also grinning at the “to do” list he has waiting, ha, ha!
Stella, so pleased your results are OK…what a relief! A holiday will have done you the world of good where you’re not reminded of things we’ve had to deal with at home.
Doz, you too must be relieved, having your results. When Dan finally landed home, I’m sure I would have filled up just the same. How exciting for you to be looking forward to Wimbledon!! Woohoo! I think you both deserve it and you deserve to be spoilt. It sounds like you all had a really lovely upbeat Christmas and nothing can beat that!
Jane, Glad all is well from your appointment. It makes a big difference when the onc is nice to you and sympathetic, you almost feel like crying when you are at a low ebb. When one young man I hadn’t seen before was nice to me and he said I didn’t have to go back for some time, when he’d gone, I told the nurse I could kiss him and she rolled her eyes and replied “so could I” although I think she saw him in a bit of a different light!! I was pleased to hear you had some time off over Christmas. How to plant ideas in your head from the BCN? And then the 3 patients….it certainly doesn’t take much to make us wobble….we are still fragile. I guess we’ll never be free of that shadow which lurks and can jump out at us! We need to know what‘s wrong, yet frightened to hear the results.
Elsa-Jane. It’s certainly easy to pile on the weight. You have a goal to aim for and by the 6 months is up you could lose quite a bit and very gradually so it’s not too painful, ha, ha, ha!!
Things have been very normal here over Christmas…only a Christmas dinner any different, really! I’d even forgotten it was New Years Eve for a while!! Start of new kitchen and wardrobes at Dad’s next week.
Remember girls, you’re a link in the Butterfly chain, strengthening the future of us all, so thanks to everyone for being there. Happy New Year!
Look after yourselves. Love from Ami xx
Oh…Forgot to tell you this! Someone I know has a grandson who was chosen for the Christmas Play. “And what part are you playing?” she asked.
“Unconscious Pilot” he replied!
Ye gods what have I missed bless you… So many lovely outcomes after so many worries for you all… Long may it and our friendship last… My love to all you beautiful Flutterbys who have made this forum as special as it is
HAPPY NEW YEAR xxxxxxxxxx2013xxxxxxxx
Hope you are all well and enjoying the new year…
Still enjoying my time with Afghan tho it has passed so quick Manchester bound on Wednesday
jane I hope your arm has settled and is,nt causing any more problems… I,m a bit mystified as to why your nurse would say such a thing without any tests?? I do hope it was just a bit of a flare up, in your busy life it’s bound to if you don’t get chance to rest it, I swear by my little heart shaped pillow that sits nicely in the arm pit when I,m resting… Did you sneak your young man home ha ha! xxx
Em glad to hear your young man is finding retirement easy he,ll not know what’s hit him when he see,s the list of to do.s hope the tummy has settled hon xxx
Janice glad o/h is on the mend it must be a big worry off your shoulders… Now he,s finally been sorted out, hope all goes well on Tuesday… I won’t offer to hold his hand but I will send you both a big hug xxx
EJane… I,m with you all the way on the extra darned pounds… They seem to be so easy to put on and so blinking hard to get rid of… All good intentions went out off the window when Vikki made her luscious carrot cake!!! Well someone had to eat it so diet starting again…tomorrow!!! xxx
Ami how well you write what we all are thinking… Fragile yes… Want to know what’s wrong dread hearing results, it seems to be our legacy Flutterbys, it would be nice to believe that one day it will all be in the past! But no matter what we are all pretty much at the same level of recovery so that is a positive to take forward xx Hope the fittings are going well at Dads it’s quite exciting to be planning nice things, Daniel has got the house we went to see so I think Mum may be called into to help with a few things he has planned when he,s home next just waiting for the finer details now… Contracts etc, but all, going well hope Pasty is doing well, ypur unconcious pilot made me laugh bless! take care hope all is well with you and yours xxx
Full of cold and coughing for England but its not going to spoil my meal out with a few friends and my offsprings tonight… Daniel was full of cold on his birthday and sadly could,nt taste much at the Thai Restaurant we went too… I,m hoping tonight’s Indian will bring back my taste buds??
Love to everyone hope the year is treating you all well so far… Keep those wings fluttering girlies and flutter gently
xxxxxxxxxxhugsxxxxxxx
Just waving to you all as I flit past… On annual leave this week… Off to London today to meet a cousin from Wales. We’re ending up with tea at The Ritz as a treat…
ttfn.
Hope you all had a good new year we went to bed at 11 as too tired to stay up any longer.Age def catching up on us ha ha.
G.I.Jane wonder what o.h would have said if you had taken your lovely young doctor home. Its nice to have someone who actually listens to you we have a G.P at our surgery who is like that but needless to say it is hard to get an app with him.Hope you enjoy tea at the Ritz and meeting your friends.
Ami Doz is right you always say the right thing and make everyone feel better.Hope all your home alterations are taking shape and that the pasty is keeping snug in his blanket.
Well O.H is doing not so bad even though we had 2 visits to A & E over the New Year.He goes back tomorrow so hopefully they will get him sorted until the next time as he has to go back in 3 months to make sure all is ok and if not they will do the same again.I may move out if he is as grumpy ha ha
I had my app with plastic surgeon changed again for the 4th time so told them I am not going to bother going back as my boob is settled and comfortable now and I won’t be having anything more done to it I am not bothered what it looks like as long as it isn’t sore and uncomfortable.
Hop all our other flutterbys are okay and if not hugs and handholding are here for you.take care love Janice xxxx
Morning flutterbys - chilly today!
Go to see my surgeon tomorrow re more reconstructive work - if the difference between having an op or not is minimal, I wont bother either Janice but I have to say that on holiday I went to the loo a few times and looked in the mirror and thought oh yes got to do something about that lopsided look. OH says it was only me who noticed but not so sure myself - anyway see what happens tomorrow. Hope OH is doing ok.
Jane1 - tea at The Ritz, a lovelty treat, hope you enjoyed it.
Doz-I’m with you re the weight thing, so easy to put 1/2 stone on but so hard to come off! Saying that, hope you enjoyed your Indian meal! I went to Wimbledon a good few years ago but really enjoyed it.
I had to go see GP Tuesday - I have a Bartholins cyst - if you know what it is you’ll probably know where it is!! So on antibiotics at moment - I’d never heard of it but very uncomfortable.
Jane2, Emmy, Ami, Yvonne, Carolyn?, and anybody I’ve not mentioned sending big hugs to all xxxx
Stella
Yes trellis cyst very uncomfortable hope A.Bs work and it doesn’t come back.My boob was lopsided as it healed 3.5cms higher than the other one and felt as if a lot of it was in my armpit so that’s why I had it done.Still a bit smaller than the other one but with my bra on its not noticeable so that’s why Iam not having anymore surgery.COunselling session went well and I am staring to get my head round things and feeling much better.Good luck with your app Stella.
O.H is much better and happy no catheter now and he is going out for walks again not too far but at least he is out and about.
Hope all you other ladies are okay it’s very quiet after the New Year take care love hugs and spoons Janicexxxxxxxxxxx
Morning Flutterbys xx
I could,nt log on yesterday thought I,d been banned ha ha!
Janice I,m so pleased O.H is doing well without the catheter that’s a big relief for you both and now the counselling on top must be a bonus if your seeing results bless you, what a rough trime you,ve been having xxhugxx
Jane… Miss Gadabout very posh and very well deserved… Hope work is,nt too demanding at the moment xxx
Stella yes they are b****y painful hope the a/b,s kick in soon… I put 6Ib,s on over Xmas think I enjoyed my meals out more than I should have so doing my utmost this week to kick in a bit of weight loss… Working nights for the remainder of the week which does,nt help as all I fancy is crisps and sugar xxx
My boy went back to Afghanistan yesterday… Sob! We all had a busy couple of weeks but really enjoyed having him home with the excitement of the new house looming but very sad driving him back to Manchester and even sadder coming home without him he,s back mid April and by then he,ll hopefully be moving into the house so busy times ahead…work has been really bad… Bed state on red alert so we were filled up…no staff as usual and our shift patterns have changed due to the new e rostering… Whoever brought this in wants to try working 47 hrs one week then 41 the next… Only consolation is for the rest of the month we get shorter weeks but its crippling when were so short staffed… Soul destroying!! Moan over sorry!
Vikki hash got her date to have her foot op… She has been having trouble with her feet since being on all the morphine for the last 10 months?? X-ray showed her bones are splaying out at the joints? I personally think its wear and tear from not being able to walk well for so long so they are taking some bone away and pinning her toes eeeeoouw! She will be off her feet for a couple of weeks but hopefully it will sort the pain out. Unfortunately I,m working nights the week she goes in so won’t be getting much sleep finish work at 7.15am then got to get her in for her op at 8 at a different hospital ye gods it will be a panic for sure! Another downfall of the new e roster is we can’t swap shifts… Family friendly?? Not!
what a whinger I am… And just seen on the weather that we are due 3 weeks of snow… A week would be nice but 3 weeks oooooer!
Hope everyone is well and the new year is being kind to you all… Flutter gently Janice Ami Em Stella Jane,s Carolyn and anyone I,ve forgotten the brain is,nt what it used to be
xxxxxxxxxxxhugsxxxxxxxx
Oh dear reread my post & hope you had a laugh what on earth happened to put trellis instead of Stella I think this I pad puts in what it thinks you are wanting to write.Apologies for the mix up.Not looking forward to the awful weather which is expected so keep warm flutterbys love Janice xxxxxx
Heavens… how is everyone?
it’s all gone very quiet, so I hope that means peeps are busy and ok…
oh is decorating the study… Going for an episcopal flavour (a purple wall) it’s looking good…
flutter gently in the cold, dear flutterbies…
Hi flutterbys! Jane the decorating bug seems to have hit us too!!! We have just finished our bedroom and are in the throes of doing the spare room, we just put a bed and wardrobe in there and left it! Guess the colour?? Purple!! Scary or what? It is different shades, walls cream so we can change the scheme when we choose. Guess we have all been busy with things and dealing with after effects of Xmas with family going back Doz,Janice bless you girls it must be hard.
I have an appointment for surgeon in Feb strange got two appointments over two days on 12/13 th got Rheumotologist too then another needle in the bum!!! Ah well as long as it works as last one did for a few weeks then crept back to struggling to get out of bed. I am not thinking about it for now just concentrating on getting the jobs done around the house! OH was asked if he was bored yet? He! He! He! Not a chance!
i hope you are all keeping warm it has gone so horrible and cold mind you OH does say it is STILL winter, I know that but still don’t like the cold. They are threatening us with snow so snuggling down with good old PJ’s and blanket so take care flutterbys sending spoons, love and hugs Em xxxxxx
Hi Girlies
Still here Jane it’s just been a crazy week what with helping Daniel pack his apartment up then taking him to Manchester then straight onto nights… Today off has been spent partly in PJ,s then suddenly remembered I,d not picked Afghans washing up when we left so had to go pick it up…heads never in gear s after nights Yes spent the day washing!! Looks like a Chinese laundry in my lounge and dining room!!!.. back on nights till wed, then 4 whole days off whoop whoop!!
Tho Vikki has 3 app,s this coming week so won’t have a lot of spare time… Pre op appointment, pain clinic and physio! One day…
Daniels back safely but had 25 hrs travelling as they were diverted at Dubai so instead of 2 flights he had 3 and his last one 4 hrs was dreadful… Really bad turbulence once he got there all flights were grounded till the weather picked up so he was glad he made it!
Work is, as ever, awful so we won’t go into that!
Your all giving me the spring cleaning and decorating bug!!! I think the whole house is ready for a makeover, starting with my bedroom i just never seem to find the time or energy… My hands are playing up again and my other thumb has now started locking it’s bearable (just) so for now I,ll stay away from the cortisone inj… Eeeek! Ouch!! I still blame the meds I,m shocking if I need to visit the loo during the night and that is a racing certainty! I look and feel like a 100 yr old I can’t straighten up and my feet and knees kill me… So pretty!!!
Glad O/H is still enjoying his… Semi retirement Em at least you have the time now to do it at leisure I love decorating but the weather is a bit off putting there never s seems to be enough daylight it’s dark miserable and damp, kind of half wish it would snow then at least the dampness might go, hope your appointments go well hon xx
Janice I hope O/H is recovering well and your still feeling ok we all need a nice holiday xx
sending hugs and love to all the flutterbies hoping everyone is well and keeping warm… Flutter gently and keeps those wings dry xxxxxxhugsxxxxx
Oh dear snowing again hope it disappears as quickly as it came this is the second lot today first fall had only just gone and down it came again.I haven’t got the decoreating bug I haven’t even got the housework done at the moment but so what tomorows another day and I may do it then.O.H is improving slowly and gets results on Friday so hopefully it isn’t aggressive and when he has it done again in 3 months it has gone for good everything crossed.
Stella hope your app went okay.Doz I can empathise about sons leaving it was awful I cried all the way home.Hope everyone else is okay and not too tired from all the decorating love hugs and spoons for the workers Janice xxxxx
I just wanted to say a big and belated happy new year to you all sorry i have not been in touch but as usual i have been hit with cellulitis again with a vengance and been back on antibiotics since jan 2nd and still ongoing.lymphodema clinic have made another appointment as i have to start my treatment all over again so am really back to square one, well feels like it anyway.
apart from that feeling loads better believe it or not even though still do not have much energy and seem to spend lots of time sleeping which in this weather is not such a bad thing . wish i could find the energy to start decorating as the kitchen needs doing ,will have to prod OH to make a start.i can direct him from the sofa.
i have read through all your posts and am glad to see you are all fit and well.
