Where do I go from here?

April 25 noticed a dimple / puckering on right breast went g.p. he gave me antibiotics on May 5th he examined me again the dimple had gone bigger I was getting prickly sensation inside the breast not a pleasant sensation at all he fast tracked me to see breast specialist as my mum had same symptoms 10 year ago it took 6 month to find as it was in the milk ducts.
I had mammogram scan and examination on friday at hospital no lump was found but dimple and enlarged milk ducts were confirmed.
The doctor was every bit unsympathetic he said Mammogram found no lump scan found no lump I found no lump thats all I am prepared to do What more do you want done?
I pointed out my mum had a dimple enlarged ducts no lump it was 6 month before the cancer was discovered Back he came So? what do want?
He eventually agreed to see me again in three months when we will go through it all again this morning I awoke to blood stained sheets my breast had leaked Where do I go from here ? I feel I am been left hung out to dry by a doctor who seemed to think I was wssting his time Do I return to my lovely G.P.?

Yes most certainly dilili go back to your GP. Explain what happened at the hospital and if the doctor refers you back to the hospital ask to see another doctor. I don’t know how some of these people ever get to work as doctors!!!

You’re worrying so you need to know what the problem.

Hello Dilili,
That is all very worrying for you. I would definitely go back to your GP. Could you see another GP at the practice?
Whoops posts clashed!
Hope you see a more sympathetic doctor at the hospital.
Good luck.

Go back to your doctor. You need to know what going on. If you can take a friend with you for moral support it may make it easier for you? Writing down a list of questions is useful, and write down the answers too. Useful for you and awkward doctors may be more forthcoming if you are making a record. Your doctor should be ginving you advice and telling you what the next step is, not asking you what you want to do next.

Good luck.

perhaps you can ask the doctor if he has an explanation for the dimple and sensation if he is discharging you from clinic then you obviously need some reassurance that all is ok… some doctors arent very good at explaining things and some very benign things can also cause changes such as dimpling.

i think if you are unhappy with your treatment you can ask for a second opinion or at least ask to see a different doctor… it may well be that there is no changes other than a dimple because it is just normal breast tissue or a benign change but it sounds like you need some clarification of this.

Thanks for all your messages of support I have got appointment with my GP on Monday next week he really is lovely and I can talk to him But the consultant I saw was a nightmare he did not care one iota like you say I need closure /clarification on the enlarged milk ducts as that is where mum had her cancer I just hope I don’t get that consultant again
