white spots on my mammogram xray!

I had my first Mammogram today, which was requested by my Consultant following a cyst aspiration on my left breast (which is still really sore after a very painful compression on the Mammogram machine). I will be seeing my Consultant on Wednesday 21st Jan. Just as I was leaving the room, my images were on the screen and I could see 2 large round spots one on the upper part of my breast and the other behind what appeared my nipple. The lady reassured me and said it looked fine. But I have been soooooooooo worried all day, looking for images on the website for what looked like what I saw, but could’nt find anything. The spots did not look like microcalcifications, more like round 2 pence/dime shape and they were very bright… Anyone now what they could be? What do you think the next step will be for me. Thanks X

I haven’t seen a mammogram result, I know my ultrasound the images were black don’t know if its the same for mammo. Sorry not much help, but I’ll have bumped the thread up. Hopefully someone else will be able to help.

good luck for today amanda, sorry can’t help but thinking of you…x

ThanX both, appreciate your replies. Saw my Consultant today, who said the Mammogram Report had come back and that it showed density on the right reast and that the Radiolist was recommending an Ultrasound to check it further. This is schedule for tomorrow at 1.30pm, so quite quck. Its strange that there is an issue with my right breast and it was due to a lump on my left breast that I went in for! Keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow.

thinking of you today too!! x

Good Luck for today fingers xd xxx

How lovely of you both. Thank you very much indeed.

Well…It was excellent news, the Ultrasound showed small Cysts which the Radioglist said they were so small that she would leave them. I saw my Consultant afterwards and he said that he no longer needs to see me. So you can imagine I am over the moon and soooooooo relieved (understatement!).

I started scary jjourney on the 21 Dec 2008 and it has been an experience and a half and one heck of a rollercoaster ride on my emotions that I am thankful it’s all over, the waiting as you all know is the worst thing, and it takes over your life, with the amount of research I have done online, I feel ready to taken on a new career!

There are many things I have learnt over the past 4 weeks, such as knowing how and when to check my breasts, I even understand more about what they are made up of…unbelievable! but mostly what fantastic care there is out there, the thoroughness of the professionals and the amazing support from people through forums.

Good luck everyone on your journeys. With love, hugs and kisses.Amanda XXXXXXXXXXX
