I’m so sorry to hear that you don’t feel you have solid answers either way following your appointment.
Our specialist breast care nurses are very kind and supportive. Please don’t hesitate to give them a ring with any worries. They can be reached on our free helpline on 0808 800 6000 which is open Monday to Friday 9am-4pm and 9am-1pm Saturday.
I would request a biopsy for a peace of mind! Tell them how its effecting you mentally and your not happy that its not being looked at thouroughly. Not saying it is but they can make mistakes too… its better to be checked out i think. However soon as they did ultrasound on me they pretty much knew what they were seeing straight away so did biopsy to confirm it. Im only 33 but had my second chemo today… just glad i found my lump! X
Hi @whyme
Sorry to here you were rushed and haven’t really had any answers or least a follow-up
I’m sure the ultrasound if anything suspicious was they would of offered you a biopsy , if not happy go back to your GP
Can get a second opinion good luck Xx
I’ve had this letter uploaded to my NHS app. Can someone explain in dumb terms?! There was no mention yesterday of cysts. The lumps I can feel are like marbles - would that be the ‘nodularity’?
I had a cluster of cysts about five years ago; they felt like large peas. The largest one felt tender from time to time but they all vanished after a while. The doctor at the time commented that my boobs were nodular generally in that they are quite lumpy - apparently some women have naturally lumpy breasts.
Maybe you could ask your GP to talk you through it to put your mind at rest? Although it looks to me like it is nothing sinister which is fantastic news (obviously I’m not a medic so someone else may be able to give you a better overview). X
I have numerous cysts started to find them in my forties, I used to have them aspirated by my gp many years ago but I don’t believe they do that niw you have to go into the clinic.
I’m surprised they didn’t explain all this to you yesterday, I would go and discuss it all with your gp and put your mind at rest
I’m sorry that they were so dismissive and didn’t explain it all to you - as has been said already you could contact your GP for further explanation or ring the helpline here and go through it with the Nurses .
However it does sound like really good news xx
