I have had lots of trouble getting a wig to fit. I did have very thick long hair. I got it cut to a short bob and have used the cold cap. I am due my third lot of FEC-T on 29.5.15. I have lost tons of hair and have just enough left to still go without a scarf or hat. The place I went for a wig has said my head is big! I can not be the only one having problems. This morning I have been told that I have ti get my head shaved so I can have the wig fitted. Has anyone else had a problem or can you give me any advice. Thank you ?
Hi,no you don’t need to shave your head first.
I had a shoulder length bob,the lady put a stocking cap thing on to keep hair out of the way and we then did wigs.
Wigs can be adjusted with little strap things at side. My sister and I both had hair when we went for wig fittings. The wig lady said its good to have hair if you want colour matched and it wasn’t a problem having hair still.
Hi Padfoot
Sorry you’re having problems with wigs. I have put for you below the link to the area of this website which discusses hairloss and our Headstrong service. I hope you find it helpful.

Did you go with the nhs wig service? I have my free wig from tthe hospital. It looks brilliant and I wear it all the time and have done for four weeks now.
I had it fitted when I still had hair and i have to wear it now on the tightest setting. I am 41 and have a medium brown bob and it looks great xx
