I have had my first cycle of Gem Taxol for a recurrence in a lymph node in my neck. Am feeling really well with no significant side effects except that my hair is already falling out in handfuls. Even though I have a wig I’m happy with going through loss of hair, eyebrows, lashes again seems alot to cope with and in darker moments I feel I will go all through the treatment only for it to pop up somewhere else again , ( this is my second recurrence). On a positive note my offending node is already responding to the treatment. Any encouragement/ tips gratefully received Stephie xxxx

Sorry to here your feeling low you should nt let it consume you but allow time to have it so it does nt build up.
Great news ur responding to treatment.
I think the only way to help with the hair loss etc is to embrace the thing that havent changed or embrace what you gt if the thats putting on ur wig and little make great and as time goes on wen ur hair grows back getting it cut and styled is fab and it gives you an oportunity to go bold and get that colour or style you was alway to scared to pull off.
I strongly believe wen able pamper yourself and love the things you gt and embrace the way you love to.
Again we have this fear of recurrence not responding to treament you just have to think positive and tell yourself the facts

Hi Connie. Thank you so much for your response, you made me feel much better ?. You are right I should embrace what I have and actually my wig looks much better than my own hair! And as off the 5th off march i am super i gt the best news ever!!!
My recent scan was completely clear even my liver mets have gone
i am on hercetin and its only been a year of chemo radio and herceptin so the drugs really are magic!!!
So i hope this will give you more hope and positivity
And i tell you the weight on your shoulders is completely lifted.

Thank you. I have had 2/6 treatments and can no longer feel my enlarged lymph node ?. I’ve had minimal side effects and so am pretty much carrying on as normal. Long may it continue! You take care and keep in touch xxxxx I will definitely remember to pamper myself ? xxxx

Connie’s right it’s good to look after yourselves and do something nice everyday. It makes a huge difference. Hope you’re treatments still being kind to you stephie and your offending lympe node is no more.

Yes its the most anxious times wen its scan time lol
Yes i imagine it must be good news as my onc the same if its good news she either writes me a letter or just waits until im due to see her if bad i normally gt a call to scedule to see her lol although nt always as i see her a week after scans sometimes ( which are the worst as im totally left in dark lol )
