When will the strange lump in my throat go away I ask myself I ate some just a little too warm food the other night and the horrid sore throat that came when I had my rads 2 weeks ago, came back and lasted for two days.Anybody any ideas how to treat as I didn’t get the medication that was advised at the hospital as it didn’t hurt till it was over and my next appointment is in 6 weeks.

I’m sure that if you phone your medical team and explain again about your throat they will be able to help you, otherwise go and speak to your GP who will be able to prescribe you something, don’t leave it another 6 weeks.

I had this problem when I was coming to the end of my rads. I’ve looked through my medical file to see if I could come up with the name of the medicine I was given - unfortunately, I’m not sure which one it is. It was a milky liquid with a very short shelf life and I took it for quite a long time. I, personally, would phone the people that matter (not a GP). They will be well used to dealing with this problem (presuming it has come from having the rads) and they may even give you a prescription on the spot. The quicker you start the medicine the quicker it will disappear.
